🐾 SORTING OUT NON-COMPLIANT CHAINS IN QUOLWENI 🐾

Some of the chains we come across are absolutely horrendous. 💔

While the conditions these dogs are living in are far from acceptable, we are doing what we can to make small improvements where possible.

By replacing extremely short chains with 4-metre chains, these dogs at least have a little more room to move, explore and experience a small improvement in their daily lives. 🐕❤️

But the reality is heartbreaking.

There are clearly very few inspections taking place in many township areas, and countless animals continue to live in conditions that need urgent attention.

We cannot change everything overnight — but we can change one life, one dog and one situation at a time.

🐾💔 FROM APPALLING CONDITIONS TO A BED OF THEIR OWN 🐾

These precious pups were living in truly appalling conditions. Conditions no animal should ever have to endure. 💔

But today, they have something they can finally call their own… a bed. 🛏️🐶

It may seem like a small thing, but to these pups, a warm, dry and comfortable place to sleep means everything. It is one small step towards giving them the care, dignity and better life they deserve. ❤️

At Ouland Animal Outreach, we work every day to help vulnerable, neglected and abandoned animals.

Our work includes:
🐾 Feeding hungry dogs and providing clean water
🐾 Dipping and providing basic care
🐾 Replacing unsafe restraints with humane leads
🐾 Rescuing and rehoming puppies
🐾 Responding to cases of neglect and abuse
🐾 Weekly sterilisation support through our dedicated vet

We believe in creating lasting change through community outreach, education, rescue and sterilisation. Our long-term dream is to raise funds for a dedicated animal safe house where unwanted animals from the townships can be cared for, rehabilitated and hopefully rehomed. 🏡🐾

Spend an afternoon on the road with Wilja as we visit dogs, making small changes that have a big impact.

This afternoon we installed protective drums to provide shelter for dogs, replaced short chains with longer, safer ones to give them more freedom to move, and delivered warm blankets to help them through the cold winter days.

Every visit is a chance to improve an animal's quality of life, and every donation helps us reach another dog in need.

Do you have any plastic drums to donate? They make excellent weatherproof shelters and can truly change a dog's life. We are also always in need of:

Thiis morning in Kwano, we collected three female dogs from Kwano to be sterilized. Every sterilization is a step towards preventing unwanted litters, reducing suffering, and giving dogs a healthier, safer future.

These early mornings, long drives, and countless hours are all worth it when we know we're making a lasting difference.

A huge thank you to our dedicated veterinary team and everyone who supports our sterilization programme. Together, we are creating real change in our communities.

This precious little puppy was rescued this afternoon in Kranshoek. She is heartbreakingly thin, weak, and in desperate need of care.

First thing tomorrow morning, she will be taken to the vet, where we'll be praying she doesn't have Parvo and that she has the strength to pull through. If she is given a fighting chance, she will be lovingly fostered by Mama Charmaine, where she will finally experience the warmth, safety, and love that every puppy deserves.

Please keep this little one in your thoughts tonight. We are hoping that her story is only just beginning, a story filled with kindness, healing, hope, and a forever home.
