Spring isn't just a change of season for our pets. 🌸

Heat Stress vs. “Just Feeling Hot” ☀️🐾

Summer heat can affect our pets more quickly than we realise. ☀️

While some panting and seeking out a cool spot can be completely normal on a hot day, excessive panting, weakness, confusion, vomiting, wobbliness, or collapse can be signs of heat stress.

Knowing the difference could help you act quickly when your pet needs you most. ❤️

Keep fresh water available, provide access to a cool, shaded space, and avoid exercise during the hottest parts of the day.

If you suspect heat stress, contact your veterinarian immediately.

✨ Meet Bonga! ✨

Bonga has been part of the Paw Ways family since 1 August 2020, and over the years, he has become so much more than just a familiar face in the shop.

From assisting with orders and deliveries to unpacking, pricing, and making sure every shelf is beautifully stocked and organised, the Paw Ways shop truly is Bonga’s pride and joy. Everything has its place, every label faces the right way, and his dedication can be seen in every corner of the shop. 😊

Having completed his Hill’s Veterinary Nutrition Advisor training, as well as training on tick and flea products, Bonga takes great pride in helping clients choose the right food and products for their beloved pets. One of the things that makes him happiest is when a client returns to thank him for his advice and shares how well their pet is doing.

At home, Bonga has his own four-legged best friend, Lilly, who is four years old. He loves taking her for walks and spending time with her, because, as Bonga says, she knows the happiness of being with him, and he loves that too. 🤍🐾

Bonga is always smiling, always happy to help, and never hesitates to carry a big purchase out to a client’s car. He also gives what might just be the best hugs in all of Fourways Vet! 😊 And if there are sweets nearby… it’s safe to say Bonga will probably find them! 🍬😉
