😤 NINE MORE PUPPIES FLOODED INTO A COMMUNITY ALREADY STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE 😤
The “owner” of this poor dog is a child herself.
During yesterday’s outreach, as always, the children alerted us to the “thin” and “sick” dogs. Often, what they really mean is hungry and neglected dogs. 😤 Sadly, many are suffering because of irresponsible breeding.
What is heartbreaking (and disgusting when weighed against our standards as a reasonable person) is that children as young as 10 can tell you exactly which dogs have mated with which 😡. This is the environment they are growing up in, where the consequences are rarely considered and the adults who should know better, often fail them.
In this case, a young girl took her dog to another address to be mated with a Boerboel. All NINE puppies are now in the same community, adding to the number of dogs in an area where people are already struggling to provide basic care.
We have requested the names and addresses of all nine puppy owners by Friday so we can follow up and assess whether the puppies are safe and properly cared for. Where necessary, we will take action to protect their welfare. Children need guidance, but adults must take responsibility.
Every case adds to our already overwhelming workload. Our funds are stretched to cover fuel, vehicle wear and tear, and essential medication, including dewormers, tick and flea protection, treatment for tick-borne diseases and injuries.
We desperately need more funding for sterilisations 🙈. In just six months, hundreds more puppies could be reaching breeding maturity. We simply do not have endless hours or resources to keep up with the consequences.
Please support our outreaches. Every cent helps prevent suffering.
Our outreach food has also run out. Yesterday, we received four donated bags, but by tomorrow morning, they will be gone. 😢
The need never stops, but our resources do.
Please help us keep reaching these animals before their suffering becomes another crisis we cannot afford to address. THANK YOU .. every cent makes a difference 🙏🐾❤️ @ ODIN 072 084 1374
