When we started this project at the end of May, we were hopeful, determined and excited to make a difference, but we could never have imagined that, just three months later, we would be able to say this:

Many of the easiest-to-catch, healthy adult bunnies have already been removed.
Who remains is a mixture of the last healthy adults, ๐น๐ผ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ถ๐ฒ๐, and a number of sick, injured and elderly bunnies who need far more intensive care.
We are now dealing with regular vet visits, medication, quarantine, fostering and ongoing feeding costs, and our expenses are climbing very quickly.
At the same time, donations have started to slow down ๐
We currently have ๐ฏ๐ฌ ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐๐น๐ ๐ฏ๐๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ผ๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ธ, and those costs are ๐ป๐ผ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐น๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฑ in the total expenses above.
Soon, the babies will also be old enough to be sterilised.

If we leave the remaining unsterilised bunnies behind, the breeding cycle continues - and before long, the colony could be back above 100 again.
We have come far too far to allow that to happen.
