We are dedicated to raising healthy, well-socialized Maine Coons that conform to the breed standard. Our goal is ongoing education and contribution to the preservation of the Maine Coon breed. Health screening of our Kings & Queens:

DNA-tested for Hyperthrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM)

DNA-tested for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (S

MA)

DNA-tested for Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKDef)

Additional HCM echo-cardiograms to help minimize genetic predispositions

We’ve decided to close applications a bit earlier than planned, as we’ve received a wonderful number of submissions. 🐾

A sincere thank you to everyone who took the time to apply, we truly appreciate the effort and interest in our boys 💛

We will begin reviewing applications on Tuesday and will be in touch with shortlisted applicants thereafter.

A sweet, mischievous boy, always up for a wrestling match and constantly on a mission 🐾

✨ Dark Moon Bacardi, blue smoke male
A very sweet and curious boy, always ready for a quick cuddle before proceeding to untie my shoelaces 😅

All three boys have lovely, curious temperaments, but like with most Maine C**n boys, don’t expect a lap cat! You might steal a cuddle once they’ve finally run out of zoomies 😸

All kittens are stunning shades of smoke, each one beautifully unique.

We will be evaluating them until 12 weeks before opening up applications, to ensure the best possible matches for both kittens and their future homes.

It’s been a wonderfully busy time at Dark Moon HQ: saying goodbye to our 16 kittens, soaking up the school holidays, and hosting my parents visiting from Europe ✈️🖤

The tiny chaos crew is growing fast! These little ones have officially taken over the house and the food bowls too. 😅

Full of energy, mischief, cuddles, and endless personality… life with them is never quiet, but always full of joy. 🖤

Just a few more weeks before these babies start packing their tiny suitcases and heading off to their wonderful new families.

Until then, we’re enjoying every moment of the kitten madness. ✨🐱

✨ 𝗔𝗡 𝗨𝗣𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗨𝗥 "𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗘𝗡" ✨
It’s been a little while since we last shared an update on our Terrific Ten. That’s hardly surprising though, these little ones certainly keep us on our toes! With six energetic kittens from Litter C added to the mix, life has been wonderfully busy here at Dark Moon.

Between caring for our cats and keeping up with everyday life, it sometimes feels like there simply aren’t enough hours in the day! 😅

But what a joy it is to watch them grow. Our kittens are becoming more adventurous, playful, mischievous, and incredibly sweet and affectionate. Each day brings new personalities, new discoveries, and plenty of laughter.

At the moment, our entire house feels like one big, fluffy whirlwind of chaos… 🐾
And honestly, we wouldn’t change a single thing. 🖤✨

The first show of the year always sets the tone — and this one did not disappoint! We packed our cats, hit the road, and turned it into a beautiful weekend away filled with friendship, laughter, and fierce competition.
With around 80 cats entered, it may have been a smaller show — but the quality was exceptional and the competition strong! We are beyond proud of our Dark Moon representatives who flew the flag high in Swellendam. 🖤🔥
