A wonderful training opportunity presented itself today in the form of this rabbit.
Timber saw it, and chose to check in. Fantastic!
That’s when she decided she wanted that bunny anyways. This is where the many hundreds of recall repetition came in. Even fully in prey drive, she recalled (albeit delayed).
As Denise Fenzi noted recently, it’s not because the reward that I offered is more valuable than the chase (I only had her normal kibble), but because of relationship and habit.
