What I imagine Coco & Mac are thinking during their bath.. 🛁🐾

I swear these two have full conversations in their heads the entire time. The looks… the side eyes… the silent judgement…
Am I the villain in their story for giving them a spa day??

But honestly, I love seeing their little personalities come out during grooming. Every dog is SO different and it makes my job that much more fun! 💕

Even if Coco and Mac think I’ve personally betrayed them… they still leave fresh, fluffy, fabulous and they still give me lots of cuddles and kisses once we are finished ✂️✨

🐾 Let’s Talk Puppy Grooming… Because It Starts WAY Earlier Than You Think 🐾

One of the biggest mistakes made is waiting too long to introduce puppies to grooming.

Your puppy doesn’t just wake up one day and magically love the bath, dryer, brushes, and nail trims… it’s something they learn.

The earlier you start, the better their experience will be for LIFE.

Getting your puppy used to grooming early helps:
• Build confidence in new environments
• Reduce fear of tools like clippers & dryers
• Prevent stress and anxiety during appointments
• Create a positive, trusting relationship with their groomer

Even if your puppy “doesn’t need a haircut yet” they still need exposure.

Think of those early visits as training sessions, not just grooming appointments 🛁

At a young age, its important to focus on:
✔️ Gentle handling
✔️ Introducing sounds & sensations
✔️ Keeping everything calm, positive, and short
✔️ LOTS of praise and patience

Would you believe me if I said Coco was laying on the grooming table napping while I was blow drying her yesterday, but her first couple baths I needed someone to help me hold her while drying. It takes time and patience but they LEARN!!

A well-adjusted dog to grooming doesn’t happen by accident, it’s built through positive early experiences.

If you have a new puppy, let’s get them started the RIGHT way 💖

🐾FUN QUESTION FOR ALL THE DOG LOVERS! 🐾

If your dog could talk for one day… what do you think they would say about their grooming appointment? ✂️

Would they say:
“That was the best spa day ever!”
“Why did you let them trim my toes?!”
“I feel like a whole new dog!”

This is Coco.. I think she would say something like..
“Honestly Kailee… I was already perfect, but I’ll accept the spa treatment.”👑
OR
“Excuse me… is this the part where everyone tells me how pretty I am?”💅🏼

Drop your dog’s name and a pic in the comments and tell me what they would say! I love seeing all the different pups. 🐶

A full groom for Mars 🌙🖤

Some dogs come into your life quietly and completely change the direction of it.

Mars is that girl for me.

She’s the one who truly pulled me into what im doing now. When she had her puppies, I was hired as kennel help and something inside me just clicked. It lit a fire in me I didn’t even know was there.

What started as helping with her babies slowly blossomed into where I am now.. grooming, learning, growing, stepping into the dog show world, chasing dreams I didn’t even know I had yet.

She doesn’t know it, but she helped shape my path. 🖤

And I will always look at her with that extra little piece of gratitude.

Forever proud of this special girl. She is truly out of this world 🐾

Handsome boy Duke came in for his spa day and left looking fresh, fluffy, and feeling so good! 🛁✨ Nothing better than that happy tongue and bright eyes after a good groom. Such a sweetheart on the table, see you next time, Duke! 🐾

I officially completed my final exam through Prestige… and I scored 100%.

Every blade length.
Every breed standard.
Every safety zone.
Every foot, rump, and top knot question.

Perfect.

This didn’t happen by accident. It came from late nights studying, practicing, asking questions, making mistakes, refining my sc******ng, and being determined to truly understand the craft not just “get by.”

I’m so proud of how far I’ve come. From working hands on with collies every day to stepping fully into professional grooming education… this is just the beginning.

To everyone who has trusted me with your dogs while I’ve been growing, thank you. I promise to keep raising my standards.

Certified. Confident. Just getting started. ✂️💗

The first dog I ever loved. 🤍
This is Baby. He was my Grandma and Grandpa Bell’s dog, but truly my best friend.

I remember him like it was yesterday. Baby loved goldfish crackers, and you could feed him spaghetti one noodle at a time and gently pull it back out of his throat in one piece… gross, I know.. but it was hilarious. 😆

He would chase the sprinkler until he was completely exhausted, then lay down and snap at it every time it passed him.

Baby was patient, gentle, and always there. He’s the reason my heart has always belonged to dogs. He started something in me that never went away, and I’m forever grateful for that little soul.

Sometimes, I feel a presence of him in my dog Ollie. I know that sounds crazy, but if you know, you know.

Comment a photo and a memory of your first fur friend, let’s remember the ones who made us who we are. 🐶🤍

Keeping your pup comfortable and mat-free between grooms doesn’t have to be hard. A few minutes of brushing at home makes a huge difference! 🐾✨

Just like in the guide, some areas tangle much faster than others. Focusing on the “trouble spots” first will keep your dog happier and help us give them the best groom possible.

❤️ Red Zone (Top Priority, brush daily if possible)
These areas mat the fastest from friction and movement. Behind the ears, armpits, chest, belly, legs, and around the collar/harness. Mats here can tug on the skin and become uncomfortable quickly, so check these spots every day.

💛 Yellow Zone (Second Priority)
Sides, tail, and top of the head. These spots still tangle but usually not as quickly. Brushing every couple of days keeps them smooth and fluffy.

💚 Green Zone (Lowest Priority)
Back and larger body areas. These are less likely to mat but still benefit from a quick brush through to remove loose hair and dirt.

✨ Pro Tips:
• Brush all the way down to the skin (not just the top layer)
• Use a slicker brush + comb to check your work
• Short, gentle sessions are better than long stressful ones
• Pay extra attention after baths, swimming, or wearing sweaters/harnesses
• If you hit a mat, don’t pull!!! message me and I’m happy to help!

Regular brushing keeps your dog comfy, reduces shedding, and helps us avoid shaving due to matting. Your home care truly makes all the difference between grooms 💕

If you ever have questions about tools or technique, I’m always here to help!

Hot take from someone who trains puppies and gets dogs show ready… every day 👀🐶

Chicken wieners are a GREAT alternative to those $30 bags of dog treats.

When you’re going through treats nonstop during training sessions, puppy work, and show prep… a $30 bag just isn’t realistic. I’d be broke by Tuesday 😅

Here’s why chicken wieners work so well for me:
• $5 for a pack of 39 at Walmart (dont sell them out on me 😆).
•Low calorie (especially when cut into small pieces).
•You control the size, tiny bits go a LONG way.
•Versatile: slice and bake them for crunchy treats or use them as is.
•Already fully cooked, so super easy, quick, and no fuss, put extras in the freezer, take out when needed.

The dogs LOVE them, they’re super motivating, and I can actually afford to train properly without rationing treats like gold. 👀

If you’re working with puppies, training regularly, or prepping dogs for shows, this has been a total game changer for me. 👏🏻🐕
