Many people think canine massage is simply a luxury or relaxation treatment.

While relaxation is certainly one benefit, canine massage can also help support muscle health, flexibility, circulation, body awareness, and overall comfort.

Just like people, dogs use their muscles every day. Running, jumping, climbing stairs, playing fetch, getting older, or recovering from activity can all place demands on the body.

Massage helps support those hardworking muscles and can be a valuable part of a dog's overall wellness routine.

Because maintaining the body is always easier than trying to catch up later.

🐾 See Me Sunday (Wednesday).... The late edition 🐾

Meet Simon ❤️

Simon is a little Chihuahua with a big personality and an even bigger appreciation for life's simple pleasures.

Born in December 2025, this handsome little guy is about 6 months old and currently being fostered through Sato Saved End of the Line Dog Rescue while he waits for his forever family.

Like any self-respecting Chihuahua, Simon believes that blankets are meant to be burrowed under, sunbeams are meant to be claimed immediately, and every time you walk through the door should be celebrated like you've returned from a year-long expedition. His enthusiastic welcome dances are honestly one of his best features. 💃🐾

Need a cuddle buddy? Simon is happy to volunteer. Need someone to help you locate the warmest spot in the house? Simon has that job covered too.

He's a sweet little guy who loves his comforts, loves his people, and is learning what it means to be safe and cared for. Watching him settle into foster life has been incredibly rewarding.

Simon is looking for a family that will love him for exactly who he is — a blanket-burrowing, sunshine-seeking, tail-wagging little companion who is ready for a forever home.

🐾 Russell is happy to be back at The Crunchy Canine doing what he loves!

One of the biggest misconceptions about dogs is that they simply need more exercise. While physical activity is important, mental stimulation is just as important—and often even more tiring!

Learning new skills, solving problems, working through training exercises, and building confidence all engage a dog's brain in ways that a long walk simply can't.

Russell absolutely loves his training days. He gets to learn, think, work, and spend time with great trainers who make it fun... and some special, just with Mom time 🥰

The result?

🐾 A tired puppy
🐾 A fulfilled puppy
🐾 A happy puppy

And a very happy owner too! 💛

Thank you to the team at The Crunchy Canine for helping dogs learn, grow, and enjoy the process every step of the way.

🐾🌈 World Pet Memorial Day 🌈🐾

Today, we take a moment to remember the pets who have left paw prints on our hearts forever.

For many of us, they were never just a dog or just a cat. They were family. They were the ones who greeted us at the door, sat beside us through difficult days, celebrated life's happiest moments, and loved us unconditionally.

The time we get with them is never long enough.

Whether they crossed the Rainbow Bridge recently or many years ago, the love they gave and the memories they left behind remain with us always.

"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." 💜

Today, I would love to honour them.

Please share a photo and tell us the name of a beloved pet who has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈🐾

Let's fill the comments with the faces we will never forget and celebrate the lives that made ours better.

❤️ Run free, sweet friends. You are loved, remembered, and missed every day.

May rain = muddy paws 🌧️🐾

This time of year, wet ground, puddles, and soft soil can leave your dog’s paws damp more often than usual — and that’s where a little extra care goes a long way.

Keeping paws clean and dry isn’t just about the mess. Moisture that sits between the toes or around the pads can lead to irritation, sensitivity, or even infections if it’s left too long.

Dry feet are especially important when:

• Your dog has been walking through wet grass or muddy areas
• There’s a lot of rain or standing water
• Your dog has longer fur between their toes that holds moisture
• You notice licking, redness, or sensitivity around the paws

A few simple habits can help:

• Towel off paws after walks
• Gently dry between the toes
• Keep a mat or towel by the door for quick clean-ups
• Stay on top of nail and paw care

Taking a minute to dry your dog’s paws helps keep them comfortable, reduces irritation, and supports overall paw health.

A little routine makes a big difference this time of year.

Be mindful of where your dog walks this time of year 🐾

Lawns, parks, and public spaces are often treated with:

• Fertilizers
• Pesticides
• W**d control products

These substances can stick to your dog’s paws and fur, and may be ingested when they groom themselves later.

Some dogs may be more sensitive than others, and repeated exposure over time can add up.

A few simple habits can help reduce risk:

• Wipe paws after walks
• Avoid freshly treated areas when possible
• Keep an eye out for posted treatment signs

Being aware of your surroundings helps keep your dog safer while still enjoying time outside.

SEE ME SUNDAY ~ OVER 2 years in rescue 💔 Lois.
3.5 year old shepherd cross lab

Lois is a dog who has been through more then she should have in her 3.5 years of life. We gave her a few months to settle in and decompress after where she came from. Shes been posted as available for over 2 years now.
But not one application :(

Lois is one of the dogs that Sato Saved End of the Line, got through the help of Mattie's Place after they convinced owner Shawn Bacher to surrender most of his dogs from "all for the dogs rescue".

Shawn was severely neglecting her and brother Clark along with many other dogs 💔 animal welfare did nothing. Property owners were shocked by what he was doing. Dogs living in cages for weeks. Sleeping in their own urine and f***s. Non stop barking for weeks. Dog fights. Being starved and dehydrated.

Clark had a lot more baggage and Sato had to separate them ultimately for Lois to have the best chance at adoption.

They were originally adooted out as a bonded littermate pair from hillside kennels that were struggling to get adopted due to no leash skills and unruly puppy behaviors like jumping up. They grew up on a farm being taken care of by immigrants who left in the fall leaving them scrounging for food.

They never fought, were very cuddly with each other and were almost chubby when they left the kennel.

The farmer called them in as strays but they were very affectionate for strays. Finding out the story after the fact. They loved each other.

Until Shawn got them...
When they returned they faught over food and wouldn't sleep on the same bed. Lois was skittish and hiding. Evidence of being attacked, scars all around her ears and neck..
Clark almost cost Lois an eye the 2nd day back.. They clearly weren't bonded anymore.

After all she had been through the last thing Sato Saved wanted was for her to end up back in a shelter, so she joined the rescue just before Christmas.. She has been in paid boarding then foster homes since then.

Lois is a very sweet dog who leans in for pets and wants to be with her person.
She is dog selective and can be reactive on her lead. Shes nervous more then anything.

She is not good with cats. If they're super dog savvy she will tolerate them under supervision.

She is good with children who are respectful. Suggested age 10+ just because she is a larger dog that jumps up when excited.

Her ideal home has a fenced yard. She would do best with an assertive but more laid back male dog. She has made friends with playful young females too. No small breeds or pocket pets.

She's a little nervous in the vehicle, she is fine for bathing but doesn't enjoy her nails clipped and needs a muzzle to keep it smooth. She can resource guard toys with other dogs which is why she's likely best on her own- or a dog savvy owner.

Lois would thrive on a farm or in a country home. City hussle and bussle isn't really her thing- that said she is really adaptable.

She doesn't "need" leash walks or dog friends. She's happy to live in a home that throws the ball for her in the yard everyday

She needs someone devoted to her forever- she doesn't ever want to bounce around again!

Her last foster tried setting her up for success but then bailed on her after forming a bond and it took her a good 3 weeks to adjust to her current foster home 😞

Lois is heartworm tested negative, on prevention, fully vaccinated, microchipped, Spayed, crate trained. House broken. She needs work on heeling and would benefit greatly from an obedience course if expected to walk on leash walks regularly.

Her adoption fee is $350.
If you sign up for post adoption training they will lower her adoption fee to $200

She comes with a leash and martingale collar, harness, food and some toys. Can provide a crate if needed as well.
