Anna Harms (OP & owner of Aspen, dog shot by neighbor in Eastpointe, MI after getting out of the yard) they and the police are still looking for the individual responsible for shooting their dog, if you have any information contact the Eastpointe police department, Anna or Cody Beown. People need to stop getting away with this! The dog was not showing signs of aggression, per witnesses.

So many people have asked me to set up a go fund me or a paypal account to help with the vet bills and we are so grateful for that. If anyone would like to help contribute to our baby Aspens medical bills below is the PayPal link. We are looking at a $6000 vet bill. The surgery team just called and said that thankfully the bullet didn’t enter her chest cavity but she still will need surgery to put drainage tubes into the wound along with antibiotics and pain meds. We appreciate any amount of money that can be contributed and honestly we will never be able to repay you enough. Aspen is 5 years old we rescued her and she is the most loving, gentle, caring dog and she didn’t deserve this. We are working with Eastpointe police to get the person that did this to her. If you have any questions feel free to reach out to us and we will keep everyone updated. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE PRAYERS LOVE AND SUPPORT. It means so much to us during this terrible incident. Any amount of donation will help. Thank you all so much❤️

***ANY & ALL MONEY WILL GO TOWARDS ASPEN AND HER VET BILLS AND CARE***

Go to paypal.me/saveaspen and type in the amount. Since it’s PayPal, it's easy and secure. Don’t have a PayPal account? No worries.

Hi guys, I know it’s been a while. Life has gotten really busy lately, I know some of you have been following Meeko for a little over four years now. I just wanted to post an update on him , it’s not the best update.

A week and a half ago I woke up to about 10 piles of vomit, we went to the emergency vet later that night when we realized he couldn’t keep food down. They did blood work and xrays, thinking it’s a blockage or pancreatitis. Xrays show no blockage, blood work shows no pancreatitis, so the vet chalks it up to sever GI upset and sends us home with meds and an order for a bland diet.

By Thursday meeko wasn’t eating much or drinking for that matter but did eat and did p**p. We still went to the vet to make sure everything was fine they sent us home because they thought he was on the mend, as did I. Because I mean when you’re sick, it takes a little time to recover even when the sickness has passed.

By the next Saturday, meeko was showing signs of dehydration, still not eating and weight loss. I called the vet (his regular vet, not ER) Monday to schedule an appointment but we needed an ultrasound and the tech wouldn’t be in until Wednesday (yesterday), so we wait. Go there at 530, the ultrasound shows a visible distortion to his intestines(a blockage) and a nodule on his spleen.

Unfortunately, his regular vet is unable to perform the surgery due to sanitation products being on back order they have had to close their OR. So I was then sent back to the ER so they could perform the surgery. This morning meeko had the blockage removed, his spleen removed and his umbilical hernia that he has always had, repaired. It was never medically necessary to be repaired but since he was already cut open , they repaired it.

I was not allowed inside at either vet due to COVID-19 and I am unable to visit him, the latest he can come home is Saturday but can come home earlier if he starts to eat solids before then. Meeko will be feeling back to normal very soon. I chose not to biopsy the nodule on his spleen, because if it is cancer, I will not spend his golden years sick from chemo and radiation just to let him beat cancer and pass away from old age.

Prayers up for Meeko for a speedy recovery. I surely thought our other dog , who eats everything would have ended up with a blockage long before Meeko , If at all. After 9 years of eating toys and throwing them up or passing them, my Meeko had finally met his match with that darn bully make globe toy. 🙄 I will post updates as soon as he is home.
