At 10 years old, Swyft has earned her Trick Dog Champion Title through Kyra Sundance’s Do More With Your Dog program.

This title means a great deal to us.

Not because tricks are cute, though they often are.

Not because titles are everything, because they are not.

But because trick training keeps asking the dog and the human to stay engaged with each other.

It builds body awareness, confidence, focus, problem-solving, communication, and joy. It gives dogs a way to use their minds and bodies with purpose. It gives people a way to practice clarity, timing, patience, and delight.

For a senior dog, that matters even more.

Swyft reminds me that learning does not have to end when a dog grows older. It can become gentler, richer, more thoughtful, and more fun.

I am so proud of my girl.

And for those who would like to begin this journey with their own dogs, our Tricks Classes are open for enrollment. Our CTDIs can also evaluate your dogs’ tricks up to the Expert Level.

Tricks are not “extras.”
They are another way to build a life together.

Abi came to us carrying a difficult history. She had been rescued after being dumped with her six puppies. Her forever person wanted to help her feel safer, steadier, and more confident at home.

Over eight sessions, Abi and her person worked through anxiety, low confidence, and selective trust with a program that combined learning, structure, and play.

This message from Abi’s person meant a great deal to us:

“My dog Abi is a totally different dog, in the best possible way, after the 8-session course. Teacher helped me address Abi’s challenges by combining learning, structure, and play into her program. Now we get to enjoy Abi more in our home. She’s smart, confident, and with no more trace of the trauma she went through.”

We are so proud of Abi. And just as proud of the loving, steady work her person and the whole household put in between lessons.

That kind of steadiness doesn’t appear overnight. It’s built through small daily choices, repeated practice, and guidance that carries beyond the classroom and into real life.

The most significant moments with your dog happen outside the classroom.

Well mannered greetings.
Coming when called.
An enjoyable walk.�Settling beside you in a busy place.�Choosing to leave something alone.
Calmly negotiating the escalator. �Pottying outside on cue and sitting calmly while you clean up after them.�Ceasing to bark and waiting while you check what is happening outside.

These are the everyday skills that make life with your dog easier, calmer, and more enjoyable. Our Courteous Canine program is designed for dogs and humans who want to start building those habits together.

We are opening a new 6-session group class on Saturdays at 10:00am starting on June 6.

Assessment is required prior to enrollment. A group class assessment is scheduled for Saturday, May 30 at 1:00pm. One-on-one classes also remain available for dogs who learn better without the presence of other dogs, as well as for humans who need more flexibility in their schedules.
