Killed by a snare trap 😭

*UPDATE: His owners have been located. Unfortunately, this sweet boy whose name was Gruggs didn't make it. I have updated this post and picture out of respect for the owner.*

This is an ongoing investigation, and no comments will be made in regards to this case at this time.

Found near Frederick and Carlton.

He is a very large orange tabby and white male. He is neutered.

If you know who he belongs to please let his owners know to call Animal Control or the Police Department asap. 417-926-5181

We also want to take a moment to let people know that snare traps are inhumane and not permitted to be used in city limits for this very reason!

Great 'Cat Shelter Tips' graphic from Outsiders TNR.

1. Be patient - add a little catnip inside the shelter to attract them to it.

2. Don't place food by the shelter.

3. Place the shelter entrance away from the wind.

4. Place the shelter near natural covering.

5. Only place straw in the shelter.
