What most people want:
A dog who can come to a café, settle calmly by their feet, and be left alone without worry.
And that’s completely valid.
But dogs don’t just grow into this.
These are skills.
Settling in a busy environment means being able to regulate their nervous system.
Being left alone means feeling safe, not abandoned.
Ignoring the world around them means they’ve learned it’s not something they need to react to.
None of this comes from “just getting older” or stricter obedience.
It comes from gradual exposure, guidance, and teaching your dog how to cope, not just how to behave.
If your dog can’t do this yet, it doesn’t mean they’re difficult.
It just means they haven’t been shown how…
And that’s exactly what training should be doing.🐾❤️👌

Puppy training isn’t just about teaching commands.
It’s about more than obedience,
It’s about helping puppies learn how to regulate, settle, and cope in a world that’s completely new to them.😦

New environments, new sounds, new dogs, new people It’s a lot for a developing brain and nervous system to process.🧬
When we focus only on obedience, we miss the bigger picture.🏞️
A puppy who can slow down, regulate their emotions, and feel safe enough to think will learn far more than one who is just being asked to perform cues!!!

Good puppy training supports both ends of the lead:
🐾 the puppy learning about the world
🐾 and the owner learning how to guide them through it
Because raising a well-adjusted dog isn’t about perfection it’s about understanding.🤝

Adolescence is the stage where most owners think they’ve messed it all up.

You haven’t.
You’re not dealing with a “bad” dog.
You’re living with a developing brain.

This phase doesn’t need stricter obedience or heavier corrections.
It needs guidance, structure, and support while your dog learns how to regulate themselves in a changing body and brain.

If things feel like they’re unravelling right now, that’s common.
But you don’t have to just “wait it out.”
The right support during adolescence makes all the difference.
