At Always Faithful Dog Training, we offer both options, but here is our honest stance: We will almost always recommend Private Lessons first.

Why? Because your dog doesn't just need to learn how to respect us in our environment—they need to learn how to respect you in yours.

Sending a dog away can fix behaviors in a controlled, trainer-led environment. But when that dog comes back to your house, to your routine, and to your voice, old habits can slide right back if you haven't learned the leadership skills to maintain those boundaries with guided coaching.

When do we actually recommend a Board & Train?
We reserve our Board & Train programs for specific, severe situations—like high-level aggression, deep-seated reactivity, or severe behavioral rehabilitation where a total environmental reset is necessary for safety.

But for 90% of dogs, the most permanent, rock-solid transformation happens when you and your dog learn to lead together, side-by-side.

Every dog breed has natural instincts that need to be met or redirected. Tracking dogs should have the chance to use their noses and explore under human supervision, while hunting breeds should be allowed to express their hunting drives.
