We offer a lifeline to as many of these wonderful animals as possible. Sadly, many of the dogs and cats that we take in are just days — and sometimes hours — away from being euthanized for no reason other than lack

of space. By finding these animals permanent and loving homes in the DC metropolitan area, we can enrich lives of humans and their pets. We welcome your help in any capacity, through volunteering, fostering, adopting, sponsoring and/or donating.

Hi, I’m Noah. I’m just about a year old and I have some very important business to attend to.

Mostly running.

And playing.

And following the other dogs around like we’re all late for something.

I LOVE other dogs. There are three in my foster home, and I spend a lot of time galloping around the yard with them, which is basically my version of cardio. I’d be thrilled to have a playful dog buddy in my forever home. A yard would also be pretty great, because I have energy and I have plans.

I’m a little shy when I first meet new people, but give me a minute. I warm up pretty quickly, and once I decide you’re one of my people, congratulations: you now have a shadow.

I’m also a serious snuggler. After I’ve finished exploring, playing and generally investigating everything within reach, I like to curl up right next to you. Preferably touching you. At all times. Even when I’m asleep.

Personal space is kind of a weird concept anyway.

My foster says I’m the “sweetest boy” and that I don’t have a mean bone in my body. I’m also smart, curious, food motivated and learning new things all the time.

For example: stairs.

Did you know they go BOTH ways?

Wild.

I’m crate trained, doing really well with house training, and I already have great recall. I’m still working on feeling confident in this big, occasionally suspicious world — especially with things like leash walks — so I’d love a family that will be patient, encouraging and help me keep figuring things out.

Basically, I’m sweet, playful, mischievous, affectionate, a little shy, very curious and extremely committed to being wherever you are.

If you’re looking for a best friend who can keep up with your adventures and then insist on sleeping directly against you afterward, I think we should talk.

You can bet this sweet guy is ready to find his person. ❤️

Adoptable Bet is our lovable tripod who’s still adjusting to life on three legs, but he’s already doing an amazing job. Bet can be a little shy when meeting new people, so he likes having cozy hideaways where he can settle in and get comfortable at his own pace. Once he does, his affectionate side comes right out. Couch cuddles become bedtime cuddles, and he’ll happily spend the whole night curled up with his favorite human furnace.

He’s even been known to serenade his favorite people, so really, you’re getting a cat AND live entertainment.

Hi Floki! He's a huge goofball who's always ready with a wiggle when his people come home. Can you see him wiggling his way off the screen and into your heart?

Floki's an outdoorsy guy, and loves to explore this big, beautiful world we live in. He loves to take in all the sights around him, and he's curious about flowers, small animals, and even bugs! He'd get an A+ in science class.

This smart boy already knows the words “paw”, “sit”, “lie down”, “come”, and “outside”. While he is a puppy, Floki isn't super high energy and loves to just hang out and go with the flow.
