So many people have asked why we save so many "special" dogs who take more time to place. Here is the answer the ones we are bringing in are usually just young and need some help learning how to behave appropriately. We decide what dogs to save based on the shelters who ask for our help. A year and a half ago I received a picture of a cute little face. She is scheduled for euth can you help her? We asked the reasoning and if the employee truly thought she could change. She said yes. So we agreed. Well, yesterday our sweet baby girl Goose met her family. She was deemed extremely aggressive, reactive, and pretty much unadoptable. After a few days in our program we just learned she had never been socialized. While in our care she met other dogs and puppies, learned some basic commands, and appropriate behavior with people thanks to our amazing volunteers and family members. Her new family already loves her. She hopped right in their car with them and has been playing g with her new brother. Last night she slept loose in the house and woke her new momma up when it was time to go potty. We are so grateful to the employees and volunteers who advocate for the dogs we bring in and for the families who open up their hearts and homes to give them their happily ever afters.
