We visited the lovely Cane Corso to enhance her doghouse with additional protection, installing thick weather strips to ensure insulation against the cold. She eagerly entered the doghouse as the strips were being secured. Additionally, we did some Christmas shopping for her, some coats, a harness, leash, collar, and a bed for her use within her family's home at night. She always greets me affectionately with a kiss😍

Received a call about a small dog being left outside tied to leashes and laying on a dog bed. My partner and I of Keep Me Warm Doghouses went to speak to the owner. When I asked why her dog was outside and not indoors with her she said, "the house is dark and quiet, she enjoys being outside where she gets fresh air, can hear the birds, etc". I told her about the animal cruelty law regarding tethering a dog and having the dog outside without shelter which are violations of the law. She said she didnt know. I asked if she wanted to surrender her dog to us and we would find her a loving and safe home to which she replied "No, I love my dog!" "I know I need to do better in caring for her and spending time with her and I will do that." I told her I could get her dog spayed and vaccinated and set her up with everything she would need to keep her safe indoors and for walking her. She told me she wanted to get her groomed, but because she wasn't vaccinated, she couldnt. I told her I would help her with that and made a plan to return soon with the items I promised her and she was appreciative. Less than a week later she told me her dog is inside now and doing well. She got her vaccinated and groomed and she and her dog are very happy. She thanked me for educating her on the law and taking better care of her dog.

Yesterday I went to her home and brought the items I promised her for her dog, a coat, raincoat, clothing, a leash, harnesses, p*e pads for when she at work and cant walk her dog, and p**p bags. I made an appt for her dog to be spayed mid December.

So happy with this outcome and how quickly the owner took action to make things a whole lot better for her dog. This is why I formed Keep Me Warm Doghouses, to educate owners about responsible pet care, to offer resources where needed and to help improve the lives of dogs forced to live outside by their owners.

Doghouse delivery to a beautiful female Cane Corso formerly living in a small boxed kennel with no shelter. We at Keep Me Warm Doghouses, inc built her an insulated wooden doghouse with straw for warmth and bedding at no cost to her owners. We were able to get them to agree to let her run freely in the yard instead of being confined to the cage/kennel. We also gave them a gate for indoors where she sleeps at night to keep her away from unsafe areas in the basement. Grateful to Barry my partner since 2016 in delivering houses, helping me to speak to dogowners to do better, and occasionally building houses including this one🤩 Improving the lives of dogs living outdoors one doghouse at a time💕

We are gearing up for summer at Keep Me Warm Doghouses, Inc. We had a busy winter and Spring which included helping a family clean up their yard so their dogs could enjoy time outdoors safely. We sent them a dumpster to clean up yrs of garbage and construction supplies they accumulated to make space for their dogs on the ground instead of on an unstable roof of a shed and we convinced them to let them live indoors! We gave a sweet German Shepherd a brand new house to replace the old, dirty one she had that was falling apart. We got her to the vet to treat an ear infection and got her a coat to be extra warm on cold days outside. We got 2 females and 2 male pitbulls fixed and vaccinated to end to cycle of reproduction and sale of their puppies. We partnered with a local rescue to get all the puppies of the last litter adopted to safe and loving homes. We got the mom's ear infection treated at the vet. We got a young yorkie who was rescued by a community member neutered and vaccinated, and got a poodle neutered whose dad asked for our help. We love when we dont have to educate pet parents about the importance of spay/neuter😃We gave a bed to a sweet german shepherd who previously spent her days in an auto repair shop's dirty, cold and hard floor. These are just some of the dogs we helped and are getting ready for what the summer will bring. Your donations at work💕

After many long months, I was finally able to get a breeder's dogs fixed! He initially stated that he wanted it done, but then made excuses(some legit), and created barriers to having it done. There were other challenges like vets who wouldn't touch the dogs unless they were medicated and muzzled as some of them were aggressive, and I needed help to get that done because the dog owner wasn't one I could count on. Still I didn't give up because I knew how important this was. 4 pitbulls fixed, 2 males, 2 females, what a challenge!

Why was this so important you might ask? There are thousands of dogs just in our area of NYC alone who are euthanized annually simply because there isn't any space in the shelter. Rescues are overwhelmed with the amount of dogs they take in who need homes and are usually full to capacity. So why do we need breeders? There are more dogs needing homes than homes available to adopt them. Let's help end this crisis and adopt from shelters and rescues. There are breed specific rescues if you're looking for a certain breed, just Google it. Check on petfinder, and adopt a pet for hundreds of dogs of all breeds, ages, personalities, etc. Adoption saves lives, the one you adopt, and the space available for the next dog or cat to be saved 😍Big shout out and thank you to my friend Amalia for getting me vet appts to get this done💕

A few months ago I was told about 2 dogs in Bklyn who were living in their owner's backyard which was so full of trash and construction materials that they had no place to go but on top of a shed that they accessed through a very tall ladder. Through the power of social media, my good friend posted for us and we were able to get many calls to the precinct. It took several days and many calls for the officers to figure out this was unacceptable and not only go to the property, but contact animal cruelty who in turn contacted the ASPCA. The owner was told that he had to clean up the yard, and treat the mange. No mention of removing the ladder which provided access to the roof of the shed.

After all assessments were made by the above orgs, we at Keep Me Warm Doghouses Inc paid them a visit. We offered to help by providing a dumpster, and the owner said he could get people to help him cleanup the yard. We offered beds for the dogs, a gate to keep them indoors safely to prevent entry to areas of potential injury, and to get the dogs neutered. We were able to get them to agree to let the dogs live indoors, owner refused the neuters. Work is still being done to clean up the yard, but great progress is being made and the ladder has been removed! We will stay in touch to make sure the dogs continue to thrive and provide whatever they need to do so. Little boy Blue's mange has been treated and his fur is growing in nicely😊

2 weeks ago we delivered a new doghouse to a sweet German Shepherd and noticed she was shaking her head alot. I asked the owner about it and he said she had been doing that for quite awhile. Thinking she may have an ear infection I made her an appt at our vet's office today and met her owner there. Turns out she had quite a nasty infection and her ears were cleaned and treated. She also got a rabies shot since she's never been vaccinated before and at a minimum should have that vaccine. Our vet said she's at a good weight and is otherwise healthy😍 I also got her a coat for her walks and time she spends outdoors. Family says they bring her indoors at night. I sure hope so, and hopefully she'll be brought in to live with her family permanently💕

A big thank you to the Wheatley School in Old Westbury Long Island for choosing our organization Keep Me Warm Doghouses, Inc to help on their day of service. 5 high school students from the advanced woodshop class under the direction of their teacher built us a beautiful insulated doghouse in just 1 week! We picked up the house today and I brought the class pizza to thank them for their hard work. I spoke to them about responsible dog care including the importance of spay and neuter, and encouraged them to adopt a dog from a rescue or shelter which saves lives. I also informed them that while we offer doghouses to dogowners who leave their dogs outdoors, we do not approve of any dog being outside as they are members of the family and belong indoors. If your dog can't live indoors with your family, don't get a dog, they agreed😊The Wheatley School was featured on News 12 LI for their day of service. A great project for the students and service to the community💕

Demolition day today of a really gross dilapidated doghouse and replacing it with one my carpenter made for a beautiful dog that lives outdoors in a pen. Barry, my organization partner sledge hammered it and cleaned up the pen. We put straw in it and gave her new bowls and a new collar. We encouraged the owners to take her for walks. Her sister, a 10 yr old pittie died a month ago😔We were happy to provide her with a clean, insulated, warm house and a little more room to move around in her pen, free of charge to her owner. This is our mission, to improve the quality of lives for dogs living outdoors, one house at a time.

This came up on my memories today. 5 yrs ago my friend and I rescued Rocky. A few attempts to rehome him with people who didn't follow our instructions, or understand this wild child landed him back with me and the realization that this dog wasn't supposed to be rehomed, he was supposed to be my dog, so I adopted him. Rocky changed my life and I changed his💕Happy 5 yrs my handsome boy, I love you❤️💙🩷💜

Latest photo taken today of the Pittbull my friend and I rescued off the streets of Queens. This is after he was dog tested today, and we found out he loves dogs!🥰😍❤Looking for a foster/adopter and a better life than the one hes had for the past 4 yrs! Neutered, vaccinated, and chipped.

5 yrs ago my friend Martha got a call from her vet that someone put a dog in the street and drove off. A homeowner heard the horns and went out to see what was going on. He saw a small dog in the street, picked her up and brought her to the nearest vet. Martha called me and we went to get her. When we got to her we found out that she was blind. I brought her home, and contacted For Our Friends Dog Rescue to get her evaluated and eventually adopted. I had been fostering dogs so wasn't thinking of adoption. Within 1 month I decided I couldn't give her up, foster fail🤗 I was concerned initially about caring for a blind dog, but she navigated her way around the house and is great on walks. Mitzi is the sweetest, most loving, dog who is perfectly content on my lap, beside me or in her day bed on the floor. My big guy Rocky gets along with her and we are 1 happy family. Happy 15th birthday to my little girl💕Adopt your next family member from a shelter or rescue. Help save lives that are taken from these beautiful perfectly adoptable dogs merely because there's no room at the shelters. We can do this!
