Hershey (black and white paint) was an owner surrender who came with Champ. While we tried to home them together, we were just not able to. However, Hershey landed herself a 5 ⭐️ home with a couple of FVR alumni horses and all the treats and scratches she could possibly want. I hope her previous owners see this and see she is doing well.

Champ was an owner surrender to FVR. He had been with his family for the majority of his life on the same property. It was a community effort keeping him and his herd mate cared for. When his family became too elderly to care for them, we were asked to step in.

I hope they see this and see him living a life of retirement with the love of a little girl.

New mom says, “we absolutely love him!”

I’m telling ya, give these old horses a chance. He may not be the one you ride off for miles and miles every day, but he will teach lessons only one who’s been around awhile can.

🐴💕 Some days are exhausting. Some days are messy. Some days feel impossible.

Then a horse nickers when they see you, a donkey follows you around like a puppy, or a once-scared animal finally lets their guard down… and somehow it all feels worth it. ❤️

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Every share, donation, sponsorship, and word of encouragement helps give these animals the second chance they deserve.

We couldn’t do this without our village. 🫶 🐴

Alright local friends! We have a wonderful opportunity with Tk's Pizza. They are donating a high portion of every sale back to Freedom Valley Rescue.

How it works- pick out the kind of pizza(s) you want (these are take n bake) and purchase them from me.

Once the fundraiser is over you will get a gift certificate for your pizzas and you can redeem them anytime til 12/31/26.

These are take n bake pizzas- so perfect for a quick dinner some night or store them in your freezer.

I’m gonna take yall on a little story nobody asked for 🤣.

Some know, I have put so much time and dedication into FVR. I believe in it, I believe in helping, I want it to grow and continue to be a legit resource for the horse community.

So, for me I have striving to learn more- earn my seat at this table with not only experience but also education. I put my head down and worked relentlessly to earn my Bachelors of Animal Science degree- I graduate this Summer. I have 8 weeks left and then I can check this off my list.

But, I’m not stopping there. I have been accepted to grad school for a Masters in Public Admin with a focus on Non Profit Management and Disaster Response.

I am still fighting to understand and learn and better myself for the sake of FVR and mission driven work. Whether I can take FVR to the next level or I move onto another mission, is to be determined. I try. I try and fight like hell every single day. I do it tired, I do it overwhelmed, I do it with no help in sight cause I believe so much in FVR.

I need some help- for the next 6-8 weeks I am absolutely and disgustingly slammed with school work to get finished on time.

Fundraising is the hardest part of this, especially in an economy like this- it is the most time consuming thing I do.

My ask, please consider a small donation or skipping your coffee one day and making a donation to FVR. This is a personal favor to ME. I am staring down my schedule (released today) and to say I’m kind of panicking would be true lol.

I know I have an army behind FVR, and I really need your help over the next few weeks.

We are still battling our skidsteer being down and needing to purchase a set of tracks.

Feed bins need refilled today or tomorrow

Dentals are coming up

Alfalfa will need restocked in the coming weeks

And we have a couple outstanding vet bills that need paid!

A share, a comment, send prayers or good vibes- whatever you can do, it does not go unnoticed.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

(Picture of school schedule and this is still missing a couple classes 😀)

🚨 We hate making posts like this… but we need help. 🚨

Our trailer has always been one of our lifelines here at Freedom Valley Rescue… and now our second lifeline has gone down too.

Our skidsteer needs major repairs.

This machine isn’t a “luxury” for us. It’s how we:
🐴 Feed horses every single day
🌾 Move hay and heavy loads
🧹 Scrape pens and keep animals clean and safe
💔 Lift down horses in slings when they physically cannot stand on their own

It has helped save lives here.

Over the years, we’ve talked many times about purchasing a tractor for the rescue, but the reality is we have never had the fundraising capability to take on something that large. Like so many small rescues, we make do with what we have and keep pushing forward anyway.

So right now, we have to get this skidsteer back up and running.

For years, we’ve covered the fuel, upkeep, and maintenance for the rescue equipment out of our own pockets because the work simply had to get done. But after everything we’ve had to cover lately, we just cannot absorb this repair too.

We need to raise $3,000 for new tracks.

My husband, who works as a truck driver and is gone for weeks at a time, is volunteering his own time to install them himself when he gets home so we can avoid costly repair shop labor bills. We are trying to save every dollar possible.

Without this machine, daily rescue operations become incredibly difficult. Feeding alone turns into a mountain.

If Freedom Valley Rescue has ever mattered to you…
If you’ve ever cheered on one of our horses…
If you believe these animals deserve a safe place to land…

Please consider helping us get our lifeline back running. 🙏

📢 Even sharing this post helps more than you know.

This rescue has always been built by community, grit, long nights, and people who care deeply about animals that the world forgot.

We’re just trying to keep going. 🤍

Gus is such a fighter! Gus came in as 1/4 of the Oklahoma Skinnies- he went down multiple times and we had to help him up time and time again.

Seeing him today run around the pasture and never worry about him getting up is huge!

He is stable, he is healing, he is kind and gentle. Sometimes when they start feeling better their true colors come out, he is getting sweeter. He is gonna make someone a really nice horse.

If I was to ever keep one lol, (except Jack, Jack is mine now ♥️) Gus would be the one. In 7 years of rescue I’ve only ever felt that way about Jack and now Gus.

He is the goodest boy.

(Yes he rides. He rides well)
