Our focus is on high client retention, low administrative cost, and more time spent doing what you love: training dogs! We strive to offer an enriching and enjoyable training experience to our canine students and their owners. We also incorporate a variety of enrichment focused training like agility, barn hunt, tracking and nose work into our programs, but do not train specifically for competition. We do not work with: separation anxiety, predatory aggression (offensive aggression towards other animals or people, causing severe injuries) or advanced service dog training - though our program is great for puppy or adolescent service dog prospects to learn the basics.

UPDATE!

Pickle does not need to have the surgery!!

We transferred him to a large veterinary hospital for the surgery. The team was all ready to go but the doctor who checked him in had some doubts about the first hospital’s suspected diagnosis of a foreign body/obstruction and decided to get a second and third opinion from a couple different specialists, including their internal medicine vet.

The ultrasound and surgical specialists did some additional imaging and agreed it did not look like a foreign body.

The internal medicine doctor believed his symptoms pointed to pancreatitis, and that the abnormalities the original vet was seeing on his X-rays was due to inflammation.

Since he’s so young and has not eaten anything abnormal, he will be on a prescription, low fat diet, but he has perked up, eaten some of his new food and started playing, so he’s able to come home with me under close observation.

We still have some pretty hefty vet bills from his hospitalization and emergency fees, but it’s a hole we can actually dig our way out of thanks to so many of you!

I am so, so grateful to everyone who has donated. It has been a hard year, but it has also been a year in which so many people have shown up when I’ve needed help and supported me through it, and for that I am so thankful. ♥️

EDIT: HE DOES NOT NEED SURGERY!!

We got a second opinion at a larger animal hospital that was able to have multiple specialists, including an internist, look at him and he was diagnosed with pancreatitis.

We still have quite a big bill from his hospitalization, but much lower than surgery and rehab. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated for his care. It is a huge help.

Our biggest concern now is how young he is and the fact that he has not eaten anything to trigger the pancreatitis, so he is on a prescription diet from now on and we will be following up and watching him closely.

He is eating and drinking and able to come home with close observation.

_________

This past year has been really hard and I am finally at the point where I have to ask for financial help.

If you are able to give, anything helps:

Pickle is really sick. He is currently hospitalized and they are planning on doing exploratory surgery later today to find the cause. I am looking at a total of $10,000 - $15,000 in vet bills when all is said and done. He is insured, but I have to pay up front and hope for reimbursement, and it won’t cover everything.

Between end of life care for Cody, Millie and Gia earlier this year, trying to find causes and treatments for Pretzel’s illness and chronic pain progressing, and being unable to find enough steady work since I moved, I am beyond tapped out.

I am moving to Colorado at the end of the month for a job, which is good news, but it also means thousands of dollars in moving costs.

Normally, I would run a virtual training special or teach a workshop or something but I just genuinely don’t have anything left in the tank. I can barely keep up with my handful of current sessions.

Please give if you can and please like/comment/share.

I would also appreciate if anyone knows a spell or something to lift the apparent curse that has been placed on me.

When I tell you Pickle’s predecessor, Cody Coolio, was the most determined, talented and accomplished little escape artist in the world, it might be an understatement.

That dog never met a fence, door, collar or harness he couldn’t slip. He would run for HOURS, actively avoid me and bite anyone who got close enough to grab for him.

But in his later years, when I finally got the courage to let him off leash on purpose (even though he was mostly deaf and not at all interested in listening anyways) I learned that working WITH his desire for freedom instead of against it made him a much safer dog. I didn’t need to control his every move. I needed him to want to be with me and, maybe more importantly, not want to get away from me.

“But they run away all the time! And they ☠️ things!!”

Ok? So they are independent and self sufficient. I don’t see the problem.
