Quick update for my wonderful, amazing chinchilla community.
I’ve recieved your messages asking when the shop will reopen for Halloween, and I deeply appreciate the love for my toys.
The last three weeks have been a nightmare for our family. For severe safety reasons at home, my son Ramos had to be removed from the home, and placed in the hospital on July 22nd. We are now navigating the long process of transitioning him to a group home. Days later as you are aware, we were forced into an evacuation zone due to the Spokane fires.
We are physically safe from the fires, but I am emotionally drained.
My son calls home daily begging to come home. Telling me Mom home, better, home, pick up. He doesn't understand why he can't return. This is one of the most heartbreaking period of my life. I miss my boy so much, and as much as I want him home, its not safe, and his care became more than his Dad or I could provide.
I am trying to figure out how to step out of my role as his 24-hour caregiver and into this next, unknown chapter of our lives.
Because I am taking things day by day and focusing on my emotional stability, there is no set reopen date for the store. I may throw some packages together between now, and when I formally reopen. I will likely push the release into late Sept or early October, but honestly it depends on whenever I feel ready.
Thank you for your continued support,.specially over the years as I navigated my store, and care for my boy. The kindness during a time when my family needs it most means more than I can put into words. .
