Today is National Pet Obesity Awareness Day, and we want to highlight the connection between excess weight and osteoarthritis in our pets.

Extra weight puts added stress on joints and can contribute to inflammation, making arthritis pain and mobility problems worse. Maintaining a healthy weight is one of the most important ways to reduce stress on joints and help slow the progression of osteoarthritis.

For pets already living with arthritis, even modest weight loss when needed can help them move more comfortably and enjoy more of the activities they love.

Meet O’Grey!

O’Grey is one of our palliative care patients who is receiving a little extra support to help him feel his best while living with osteoarthritis in his hips and lumbar spine.

His care plan includes laser treatments, Solensia injections, and Adequan injections. We’re so happy to share that O’Grey is doing really well and has been playing more!

Palliative care is about supporting comfort, mobility, and quality of life, helping pets continue to enjoy the things they love.

💜Memorial Monday💜

"You were my first pet and blessed our family for 17 years. I had no idea what I was getting into when we adopted you, but God knew I would need you and I am forever grateful for our daily walks and your true, unconditional love. You were an amazing dog and always found a way to bring a smile to my face. I miss you more than I ever imagined but am trying to find comfort in knowing you are at peace and no longer in pain. Bree, you were the best buddy and shadow anyone could ask for. Rest easy my sweet puppy." ~ Kelly T.

"Dr. Erin and nurse Leanne have been a blessing during this difficult time. I could not have asked for a more kind soul than Dr. Erin, who helped our sweet Grace cross the Rainbow Bridge. I’m forever grateful." ~ Thomas D.

Cats are known for being masters at hiding pain as a survival mechanism. This stoic instinct originated in the wild where cats were vulnerable to predators if they were injured or sick. Contact your veterinarian for any signs of unusual behavior and keep them up-to-date with their wellness exams.
