It’s time to clear up some false information being shared about our rescue.
First, we want to be fully transparent: right now, we are not operating as an active 501(c)(3), which means donations made at this time are not tax-deductible. We were not “shut down,” and we were not “dissolved” as a rescue. We missed a filing, and we are working on the proper reinstatement process we still hold our status through the Secretary of State. That does not mean we are not a real rescue. It does not erase the years of work, time, money, love, and sacrifice we have poured into saving animals.
Before anyone shares posts claiming we are “breeding dogs” or “selling puppies,” please know the facts. We do not breed dogs. We do not take in pregnant dogs to make money. We rescue animals in need, including pregnant moms, and we make decisions based on the health, safety, and well-being of the animals in front of us.
We understand that not everyone agrees with allowing a healthy pregnant dog to carry and raise her babies. That is okay. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. But our belief is that if a pregnant dog is healthy, safe, and able to have her litter, we will allow her to do that. That does not make us breeders. That makes us a rescue willing to take in moms when many others will not.
Every puppy placed through our program will go through an adoption process. That includes an application, background check, vet check, home check, and a signed contract requiring spay/neuter when age appropriate. We do not believe in altering puppies too young due to concerns with growth and development, but we absolutely require responsible ownership and follow-through.
Right now, both founders also have serious medical and personal matters going on, and we will update everyone more on that soon. For now, we are closed to intake so we can focus on the animals already in our care, get our paperwork fully reinstated, update cabinet/member information, and make sure our rescue is moving forward the right way.
Until reinstatement is completed, we are continuing to care for the animals in our rescue out of our own pockets. Once everything is finalized, we will begin rebuilding, finding reliable fosters, and reopening intake when we are ready.
We will always tell the truth, even when it is not easy. If you support us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. If you do not, that is okay too. But please do not spread false information about our rescue, our animals, or our intentions.
We know who we are. We know what we do. And the animals we have saved know it too.
