Today I would like to introduce you to Sushi, the newest member of the Frank family. Well.. sort of, technically he lives with my human sister at college, so he is more like a remote employee.

My human sister wanted a cat to keep her company while she studies to become a nurse, so she adopted Sushi, a two year old rescue from PAWS of Muskingum County Ohio. Sushi is what some people might call a chunky gentleman. I prefer to say he has a generous amount of cat. When I first met him, my immediate thought was, “That is a very large serving of Sushi.”

I will admit, he is handsome. But I would like to remind everyone that I am still the baby of the family, the face of the organization, and the only Frank with an entire banana based brand.

Welcome to the family, Sushi. You may outweigh me, but I still outrank you.

Love,

Hi friends. It’s me, Topanga ❤️
Yesterday, I was following Mom around like I always do.

She went to the kitchen, I went to the kitchen. She walked into the living room, I walked into the living room. She turned around, and apparently I was supposed to know she was going to do that.

The next thing I knew, she stepped on my tail.

I let out the loudest scream my tiny body could produce and looked up at her.

“Did my own mother just try to flatten me?”

Mom gasped, picked me up, and began inspecting my tail while apologizing over and over.

I looked at her and thought, “So this is how it ends. Not from one of my complicated medical conditions, but from following my mother too closely through the living room.”

Mom kept kissing my head and telling me how sorry she was. My tail was perfectly fine, but I remained very still and stared sadly into the distance.

Was I being dramatic? Maybe.

But moments like this do not come around every day, and I wanted to see how many apology Churus I could get.

The final count was two.

I have decided to forgive her, but from now on, Mom will need to look down before every step. I certainly will not be changing my behavior.

Yes, friends. NINE. I have called an emergency household meeting. This is getting out of paw.

Hi friends. It's me, Topanga ❤️
I woke up this morning, stretched my tiny banana legs, filled my love tank with Mom, and then got on Facebook to check on my people.

And that is when I saw it.

My face.

Everywhere.

A whole bunch of my friends changed their profile pictures to a picture of ME.

At first, I thought maybe Facebook had officially become TopangaBook. Honestly, it was only a matter of time. Then I started wondering… am I famous now? Do I need security? Should Mom start calling ahead before I enter a room? Will the paparazzi be waiting outside my litter box?

Mom said, “Topanga, your friends are just helping you celebrate the thirty days leading up to your first birthday.”

JUST helping me celebrate?

Ma’am, this is clearly the beginning of my celebrity era.

Seeing all of your profile pictures made my little banana heart so happy. I may not understand exactly how birthdays work yet, but if the next thirty days involve this much love and this many pictures of me, I think turning one might be the greatest thing that has ever happened to anyone.

Hello, everyone. Sebastian here.
As the oldest and most mature resident cat in the Frank household, it was my responsibility to call a family meeting about our youngest sister, Topanga Banana Frank.

The tiny banana girl has officially gone birthday crazy. Since discovering that her first birthday is exactly one month away, she has discussed presents, decorations, party plans, and why October 1st has not yet been declared a national holiday.

We quickly realized that if we do not do something big, she will never forgive us.

So Meredith, Kevin, Frankie Joe, Delilah, and I held a secret meeting. We each came up with ideas to make her first birthday extra special, and over the next few weeks, we will be sharing those ideas with all of you.

Yes, Topanga drives us crazy. She steals our beds, interrupts our naps, and somehow makes everything into a crisis. But she is also our tiny baby sister. We have watched her overcome so much during her first year, and although we do not always admit it, we all love her very much.

Our first idea is called Operation Tiny Banana Takeover.

We would love for all of Topanga’s friends to change their profile picture to the picture attached to this post for the next 30 days.

Can you imagine her opening Facebook tomorrow morning and seeing her tiny banana face everywhere? She will probably believe she has finally taken over the internet. We may regret encouraging that, but her excitement will be worth it.

If you would like to help us surprise her, save this picture and make it your profile picture tonight and use as the caption.
Please do not tell Topanga. We want her to discover it all by herself in the morning.

Once you have changed it, comment “Done!” so we can see how many of her friends have joined Operation Tiny Banana Takeover.

Let’s fill Facebook with our tiny banana and show our little sister how many people are excited to celebrate her very first birthday.

This is only the first surprise. Her other brothers and sisters will be back soon to share more ideas from our secret meeting.

Sincerely,
Sebastian Frank
Thirteen Year Old Chairman of Secret Birthday Operations

Hi friends! It’s me, Topanga ❤️
It is officially September 1st, which means my birthday is exactly one month away!

On October 1st, I will be turning one whole year old. Honestly, I cannot believe October 1st has not been declared a national holiday yet, but I assume the paperwork is still processing.

I have been wondering what Mom has planned. Maybe that is why she did not take me to New York last weekend. Perhaps she is taking me there for my birthday. Maybe we are going to the beach. I hear it is basically one enormous litter box, so naturally I would thrive there.

Then again, she might be planning a giant party with balloons, bananas, Lamby, unlimited Churus, and a special throne for the birthday girl. I should probably start working on my gift registry immediately. One month is barely enough time for everyone to prepare.

Mom keeps saying, “Topanga, your birthday is still a month away.”

Still a month away? Ma’am, this is not a birthday. This is a monthlong celebration of my existence.

The countdown has officially begun. Please plan accordingly.

Love,

Hi friends. It’s me, Topanga ❤️
In the middle of the night last night, I was lying in my princess bed getting my beauty sleep when suddenly, I heard the door open.

It was Mom!

She finally came home, and after what felt like several long, painful months, I am officially no longer an orphan.

I had our entire night planned. We were going to fill our love tanks for at least four hours. She was going to feed me several Churus as an apology, and then we were going to look for that suspicious little red dot I can never seem to catch.

But Mom looked at me and said, “Topanga, it’s one o’clock in the morning, and I’m kind of tired.”

Excuse me, ma’am?

I have been waiting here for months for your return, and now you are simply going to bed?

She cuddled me for about thirty minutes before announcing that it was bedtime. I just stared at her in disbelief. Apparently, my emotional reunion schedule meant absolutely nothing to her.

It’s okay, though. Today is a brand new day. I woke up, Mom was still home, and I immediately climbed on top of her to make sure she understood that we still have several hours of missed love tank filling to make up for.

She may be tired, but that sounds like a personal problem. I have needs.

Hi friends. It’s me, Topanga ❤️
Attention, cat parents. This is your Sunday morning inspection.

Does your cat have a household rule that sounds ridiculous to everyone else but makes perfect sense in your home?

Maybe one specific faucet must drip. Maybe a certain door can never be closed. Maybe nobody is allowed to sit in one particular chair. Maybe bedtime cannot begin until treats have been served.

In our house, Mom is not allowed to get comfortable unless she has already gathered everything she might need. Once I get into her lap, she has officially lost permission to move.

Your house. Their rules. You just pay the bills.

Please list your cat’s most important household rule below.

Hi friends. It's me, Topanga ❤️
Well, it happened again.

Mom left me yesterday and headed to New York City. She said she would be home late tomorrow night, but that is still several days in orphan time.

Apparently, celebrating human sister’s birthday and seeing Harry Styles in concert is more important than staying home and filling my love tank. I hope Harry understands the consequences of his actions. Somewhere in Ohio, a tiny, medically fragile Siamese is wandering around with a nearly empty love tank because he decided to put on a concert.

Before Mom left, she gave me hugs, kisses, snacks, instructions for my medicine, and a full explanation of when she would return. But did I agree to any of this? No. I was not consulted. I did not approve the itinerary. Nobody even asked if those concert tickets worked with my emotional needs.

Since becoming an orphan, I have been doing my best to pass the time.

First, I rearranged all of my toys by knocking them onto the floor one at a time. Mom normally calls this “making a mess,” but this was clearly an art installation called Abandoned by Mother: A Siamese in Crisis.

Then I climbed into my window to check on Steve the Squirrel. Steve spent most of the afternoon running around the yard, eating snacks, and behaving as if nothing had happened.

“Enjoy your little acorn, Steve. Some of us have real problems.”

He stared at me for a moment and then ran away. Typical. Nobody wants to stay and talk about the hard things.

After that, I checked the front door approximately 47 times. Each time, Mom was still not there. Honestly, I thought she might come home early after realizing that Harry Styles could not possibly need her more than I do, but apparently she has not reached that conclusion yet.

I also held an emergency meeting with Lamby.

“Do you think Mom misses me?”

Lamby did not answer.

“Do you think she has shown Harry Styles pictures of me?”

Still nothing.

“Do you think she left enough Churus for us to survive?”

At that point, I realized Lamby had absolutely no emergency preparedness training, so I ended the meeting.

I am trying to stay brave, friends. But my toys are on the floor, Steve has shown zero compassion, Lamby is completely unhelpful during a crisis, and my mother is several hundred miles away.

Please keep me in your thoughts during this difficult time.
