I wanted to come on here and officially share that after trying to balance mobile dog grooming with my photography business, I’ve made the difficult decision to close Tails 2 Go. I am no longer taking grooming appointments.
I also want to apologize to anyone who felt like I disappeared, abandoned them as a client, or didn’t respond. The truth is, I had a really hard time setting boundaries with this business.
Unfortunately, I was regularly showing up to appointments where dogs had fleas or were severely matted, sometimes from head to their private areas. I struggled with raising my prices, turning clients away, and having difficult conversations about the condition and ongoing care of their pets. Even after addressing these concerns multiple times, I often found myself coming back to the same situations.
At a larger grooming salon, a dog may simply be turned away after repeatedly arriving with fleas or in a condition that cannot safely be groomed. As a small business owner going into people’s homes and building personal relationships with my clients, I found it much harder to enforce those same boundaries.
I also invested time and money into creating a website and trying to make scheduling easier, but very few clients actually used it. Between that and trying to run my photography business, I realized mobile grooming was no longer something I could realistically continue.
I truly appreciate everyone who supported Tails 2 Go and trusted me with their dogs over the years. I am still grooming my senior dogs who have been with me for a long time, but I will not be accepting any new appointments.
For anyone looking for a mobile groomer, I highly recommend Kaitlyn Rue.
Thank you for understanding and for supporting me through this chapter. 🤍🐾
