Something a lot of people struggle with when starting to transition their dog off leash is finding safe and effective environments to practice in… that are even legal to have your dog off leash!
The backyard gets real easy for your dog REAL quick and does very little to prepare your dog in new environments around new distractions.
I like sniffspots for this because you’re sure to not have any other dogs come into your space (unlike public soccer fields or baseball fields where anyone could show up), since they’re private properties. I also like it because you can filter the environment you want to work in- if you need it to be fully fenced, if you want to work in or around water, if you want to work around farm animals as a distraction, etc. and I like that it’s affordable, you can rent these places for as little as $10/hour!

STOP avoiding things that scare your dog! Avoiding their fears will never make them go away, and oftentimes it actually leads to building more fears in the future. Dogs build confidence exactly like we do - by facing our fears, doing something that puts us out of our comfort zone, and being successful! Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce a Pack Dog Walk happening this Thursday at Sandy Bottom Nature Park at 6:00 PM!

This is not a formal obedience class — the focus is on real-world socialization, neutrality around other dogs, and helping your dog learn how to exist calmly and confidently in a natural environment.

Throughout the walk, we’ll work on:
• Moving between structured “heel time” and relaxed “free time”
• Practicing calm behavior around other dogs and people
• Building confidence in a real-world setting
• Improving engagement and handler awareness outdoors
• Working through reactivity or behavioral struggles as they naturally come up during the walk

I’ll be there throughout the entire walk to help coach you through any issues your dog struggles with and help create productive experiences in the moment.

MUST HAVE COMPLETED INTERMEDIATE OBEDIENCE WITH US
