Gorgeous, able-bodied adventure pup looking for her furever family
This is Mai Tai. Her whole body is filled with love and she just wants to give that love to her family with her whole being.
When this girl loves, she loves hard, with everything she has. Want to go hiking? She wants to go with you. Want to go camping? Want to go paddleboarding or kayaking? Want to go to the bathroom? She wants to go with you.
Mai Tai takes time to assess new humans. Once she has decided she loves you, that’s it. She loves you. It takes less than 24 hours but this is not a love-at-first-sight kind of gal.
Our little girl has a sad origin story - she was bought as a cute puppy. Then she started doing puppy things and getting bigger. Then she stopped being so cute.
So she was left in the backyard. No walks, no couch time, no Netflix & chill, no adventures, no cuddles. Just a bowl of food thrown in the backyard. Not even a pet or a hug.
While she was not physically abused, she was emotionally neglected and that’s just as bad. Everything is new and a little scary to her. Going for walks is new to her and that also means all the sights & sounds of cars and bikes and buses and people are new to her.
But her love literally conquers all. Where her family is, she wants to be too. She’s scared but she will overcome.

- [ ] Piebald Siberian husky - piebald is the spotted coat pattern. You cannot breed for this coat. It’s a random occurrence and every piebald Siberian is unique.
- [ ] Only-dog household or a household familiar with resource-guarding protocols and one other well-balanced canine
- [ ] Please no cats or other small animals
- [ ] Siberian husky or working breed experience
- [ ] No apartment dwellers
- [ ] Crate at the house - highly recommend she is crated when left alone so she is safe and so are your belongings
- [ ] $250 adoption fee

- [ ] Food-motivated - training will be easier because she loves food
- [ ] Eager to please
- [ ] Good level of energy (not hyperactive) and has a nice “off” switch so she’ll just hang out with you
- [ ] Plays nicely with other dogs in certain, controlled environments. She will need well-balanced canine friends in a toy-free environment. No toys on the ground means nothing to fight over.
Focus Areas for Success:
- [ ] Insecure, lacks confidence - this girl needs a family dedicated to spending the time and effort to work with her.
- [ ] Strong leadership from her family.
- [ ] Mai Tai resource guards. This is due to her insecurity. She will guard humans, space, toys and anything she deems valuable.
- [ ] Basic obedience class - this is a requirement for adoption. Yes the obedience is great but it’s more for 1) exposure to new things and new people. 2) access to a trainer while she’s settling in. 3) class will be a HUGE confidence builder for her and that’s exactly what she needs!
- [ ] Daily walks - this is a requirement for adoption. Yes, she needs the exercise but even more so, she needs the exposure to every-day-life. All the smells, sights and sounds. This will all add to her confidence.
- [ ] Include her in the family - couch time, Netflix & chill time, dog-friendly restaurants, family getaways, any outdoor adventures and daily walks
Mai Tai wasn’t physically starved but she sure was starved of love.
It is absolutely incredible that all she wants to do is love her family. Dogs are amazing and we don’t deserve them.
