(ESRA) is a national referral and foster care purebred placement organization and a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation. ESRA's mission is to provide foster care to English Springers impounded by humane societies, private shelters, and animal control facilities nationwide, as well as to of

fer adoption referral services for those agencies. There are no paid staff, and all our members do what they do on a completely voluntary basis. English Springers are as susceptible to impoundment as any dog. They are picked up off the streets as strays or relinquished by their owners because of a move, illness or death, financial crisis, or other troubled circumstances. Adoption referral assistance is also available to those owners who can no longer care for their Springers and must give them up for adoption. Through the compassionate efforts and commitments to help, ESRA's volunteer members have successfully placed thousands of Springers in new loving homes.

Panda in Colorado needs your help! He is in need of an immediate foster home, and our Colorado coordinator will work with other states if we can find him just the right foster. Here is Panda’s story:

Panda is a 1 year old 35 lb loving, cuddly, smart young fellow who has responded well to training, including leash walking and tricks. He adores his foster parents, he plays joyfully with his Springer foster sister and has a mutually respectful relationship with the elderly cat. He has enjoyed an active lifestyle, including boating, swimming and hiking. He is house, doggy door and crate trained.
After an early move to a temporary foster home Panda escaped and was on the run in the wild for 13 days. He was terrified. More recently, he has been able to adjust to a temporary foster home for several days on two different occasions and was able to enjoy the foster parent and the resident dogs after a careful introduction with both.
Panda has made great progress in his savvy dedicated foster home with a trainer/ behavioral consultant and medication.
Right now, Panda needs to relax in a quiet predictable savvy foster home. He does not need adventures. He needs to build trust at his own pace.

Panda needs the following:
A foster Home that understands his initial need for space. If he is rushed, he will bark out of fear.
Secure 6 ft fence and initial monitoring when outside
Quiet stable, predictable home environment with few strangers
Home most of the time. He currently tolerates up to 4 hours alone and loose in the house.
His current placement ends mid August. Panda desperately needs your help.

What does a foster family really do? They are the foundation, the anchor for these dogs. So many thanks to our Texas and Oklahoma foster families!! Please consider fostering, or if you aren't able to foster, donate to our SOS (Save Our Springers) campaign. Link in Lily's story!

Just one short year ago we received a call to help Lily. She was sick and abandoned found wondering a busy highway in Noble, Oklahoma. Her finder agreed to foster her and just look at her now!

One year ago, Lily was found wandering on a highway in a terribly neglected state. This poor sick girl had an open wound, ehrlichiosis, hookworms, and even a UTI. Lily weighed only 32 lbs, more than 10 lbs underweight. This is where your donations literally change lives! Because of YOU, Lily is living the princess life she so deserves today. Please consider donating to our annual SOS appeal, so we can continue saving these precious pups!
Happy Anniversary, Lily! ❤️

🐾 We are 62% of the way to our SOS 2026 goal. 🐾

That means we're making progress—but we still have a long way to go.

Finn. Cole. York.

Three Springers. Three very different stories.

💙 Finn is just a puppy whose life depends on insulin injections, glucose testing, and ongoing medical care every single day.

💙 Cole was only 8 weeks old when a routine vet visit revealed a serious heart condition that would require specialized care and life-saving surgery.

💙 York is a 13-year-old blind and nearly deaf senior whose family was devastated when circumstances forced them to surrender him.

What do they all have in common?

When they needed help, ESRA said yes.

We said yes to the specialists. Yes to the surgeries. Yes to the medications. Yes to the transportation. Yes to the foster homes. Yes to the second chances.

But saying yes comes at a cost.

Veterinary bills have skyrocketed, and more Springers than ever are arriving in our care with complex medical needs. As a 100% volunteer organization, we rely on the generosity of supporters like you to make rescue possible.

We know we can get from 62% to 100%—but we can't do it alone.

Please donate today. And if you're unable to give, liking, commenting on, and sharing this post truly helps us reach more people who believe every Springer deserves a chance.

Because the next Finn, Cole, or York is waiting.

💔 Finn should be worrying about puppy things.

Chasing toys. Playing in the yard. Stealing socks and getting into mischief.

Instead, Finn's life depends on insulin.

Before he was even a year old, this sweet puppy was diagnosed with diabetes. Every day revolves around carefully timed meals, insulin injections, blood glucose monitoring, and constant vigilance. His foster mom sets an alarm for 3:00 a.m. every single night to make sure he gets the care he needs.

No puppy should have to fight this hard just to live a normal life.

But Finn never complains. He still carries his favorite disc around the yard. He still loves people. He still greets each day with the joy and innocence only a puppy can bring.

When Finn needed help, ESRA said yes.

We said yes to the veterinary care. Yes to the testing. Yes to the medication. Yes to giving this little boy every chance at the life he deserves.

We need your help.

💙 A generous supporter will MATCH every donation dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000.

That means your gift will have twice the impact for Finn and the many Springers still waiting for their own second chance.

Please donate today. Because puppies like Finn shouldn't have to fight alone.

Vivi update. She is starting to come when I call her, will allow me to scritch around her neck and ears, and occassionally comes to me for petting when I am sitting down. And she tries so hard to get Sundance to play with her. Big progress! This sweet girl from the Weatherford group is going to be a wonderful family member in a quiet, attentive home. She is so easy to have around!
