Meet China, the 28 year old female Eclectus parrot. She has an infection of unknown origin and acute liver disease. Her best chance at survival requires hospitalization and regular injectable meds/fluids for at least another week. She is putting up the fight of her life and her owner is willing to give all she has, but the expenses are adding up! Please help China get better and donate towards her recovery. She's paid for $1600 in services so far and is expected to need at least $1500 more. Call or message the clinic for more details. 818-614-2068

Remember Uma? She had a large mass on her chest that had become infected and her owner was on disability and couldn't afford to remove it. Uma's owner kept his promise by helping Uma lose over 10 pounds before scheduling surgery. In return, Rescue Club donated all of the money necessary to do a proper work-up prior to surgery and for the surgery itself. Three weeks ago Uma's mass was removed by Dr. Winkler and Dr. Lian at West Valley Pet Clinic. Good thing it was removed too, as it came back as a mast cell tumor. Uma's expenses have reached over $2000, exceeding the donations in the Rescue Club account. If you would like to help make a difference, donate today! Every dollar will go to help animals like Uma and their owners! Thank you!

Check out the progress Uma has made in just a few weeks of commitment to her care. Simply by starting oral antibiotics and a protective t-shirt her ulcerative mass has significantly improved! She has also lost nearly 10 pounds!

Uma's blood work looks great but she still needs a work-up for her eye condition and surgery for the mass on her chest and hematomas on her ears.

Meet our latest Rescue Club pet "Uma". This sweet 6 y/o boxer has a number of urgent medical needs including a large growth on her chest, bilateral hematomas of both ears, a chronic eye condition/ possible glaucoma, and arthritis.

Her owner is on disability and has been struggling to pay for his own medical expenses, so we agreed to provide Uma her care if he kept up his end of the deal by meeting goals we set each week such as helping Uma lose weight and making her scheduled recheck appointments on time. Her owner has done his part and Uma has lost almost 10 pounds in the last 6 weeks! The growth is no longer infected and we have performed all of her preoperative lab work which shows she is healthy enough to undergo surgery!

Uma's financial needs are significant and have used up a large portion of our precious Rescue Club funds. If you'd like to help Uma or donate to help keep animals in need like Uma with their families, contact us today!

Isn't he handsome? We've been working with King, getting him accustomed to home life. He's exceptionally affectionate and inquisitive. And the exciting part? Even with just 3 teeth in his mouth he eats dry food. Despite what some may think, many cats without teeth eat dry food without a problem.

Great news! King's biopsy came back negative for cancer, but he does have an auto-immune disorder called plasmacytic stomatitis. Luckily for him, the extraction of most of his teeth and round of steroids is curative! Check our guy hanging out with us in the office at West Valley Pet Clinic. Soon as he's healthy enough, he will be making a trip over to the California Cat Center in Van Nuys to board until we find him his forever home!
