Location: Quincy, MA
Dog: Izzy
Izzy was being watched by a family member when she slipped her collar and ran off. The initial escape occurred at approximately 5:00 PM. I began the search at approximately 10:30 PM, starting from the location where Izzy had gone missing and working through the areas where she had been sighted.
After thoroughly searching a dense residential neighborhood for approximately 3.5 hours, I expanded the search in the opposite direction and located Izzy roaming through another neighborhood. Upon locating her, I contacted both the family member and the owner and provided Izzy’s location.
An attempt was made to position the owner and family member in front of Izzy in hopes of facilitating a recovery. However, when Izzy first saw them, she fled again. I was most likely a little amped up at that point as it was 2am. I continued tracking her movements until I had to briefly stop for a battery swap.
After returning to the last known location, I discovered that Izzy had entered a fenced yard. I then escorted the owner to the yard, where he was able to safely approach, secure, and recover Izzy.
