I'm getting more brood bucks than show bucks lately. Both of these have some good parts so I'm going to grow them out and see how they develop. You can only cull once.

Dream Bunnies Oscar - young SSB
Out of GC Blue Tree Pete (Youth Convention BOB) x GC Dream Bunnies Elsa (frosty)
Oscar is trying his best to work himself through that molt. He's developing into a very beautiful buck that is proven to carry chin & chocolate possibly dilute too. He's a fun Holland to utilize in my color program.

Dream Bunnies Rue - I absolutely love this doe. She was never shown as she had zero desire and will not show herself off. She's by my grand champion cream buck, Winston (Caddyshack grandson). She just had her first litter and is proven to be agouti of some kind - either orange, cream, chestnut, or opal and possibly broken as well. REWS are so fun. I just bred her to a broken chestnut that possibly carries chin in the hopes of restarting my chins. But he could also carry REW as well. So we shall see.

Edited to add updated pictures. He has a beautiful head coming in with that very clean orange coat. The genetics are there. Cross him on your show does and make some pretty agoutis! For a brood buck, he is short with a very nice topline.

I may have a young orange brood buck 👀 for a new 🏠. He's out of a L&R buck and a doe that goes back to Siblings. Pictures from two weeks ago. He's about 14 weeks, massive, heavy bone, wide thick ears, and a very clean orange coat. Breeding potential with your show type does. He does have longer ears but part of that is from the heat. I do not have climate control and the barn has been getting around 85 during the day. If anyone is interested, please message me. I can get updated pics if needed.

It's soooo fluffy! Sometimes even breeding the best to the best (includes a Convention BOB on the pedigree) doesn't always turn out how you think it should. Baby is part of my chin/squirrel project. The breeding is an outcross.

A very young orange buck that's starting to develop. I love the bone and body on him. I am hoping his head and ears will balance as he matures.

Oh the joy this little cream doe brings me. She'll be finished just in time to show as a junior at Wisconsin State Convention.

Not so funny story, but her dad was DQ'D at Badger maybe 3 years ago? The judge was so convinced he was a blue fox and that gene hid for 10 generations before it popped out in him. No amount of common sense explaining, as to why he couldn't be a blue fox, would change his mind. So to prove his color, I bred him to a broken black and he produced chestnut and orange. If he was a blue fox he couldn't produce those colors with a self. So the lesson is color is only worth 4 points. Set your ego aside, and be absolutely certain you know what color is in front of you before you DQ and unjustly take that away from the breeder. A good breeder knows the colors they work with. Oranges and creams can come in different intensity depending on the rufus in the hair - just like different shades of tort. Her dad is pictured last. He's granded and a Best of Breed winner.

I never took pictures of this guy because he wasn't much to look at as a baby. I committed the cardinal sin of rabbit breeding and kept him for his color. He is chocolate tort that may carry chin and dilute. I'm actually liking him at just shy of 6 months. It will be interesting to see what he looks like at one year.
