🐾 Forever Loved 🐾

There’s something about the way a paw print stays on your heart long after the goodbye. Every wag, purr and nuzzle writes its own story. When I look at this, I remember all the little moments that made life brighter — like when my furry friend curled up next to me on a rainy day and made everything feel okay.

We’re here, whenever you’re ready. Thank you for trusting us with your memories.

My little Lola is on my mind today.

Some nights, sleep doesn’t come easily.
Not because we don’t want rest…
but because our hearts are still listening.

Listening for familiar footsteps.
For the soft weight beside us.
For that presence that once made everything feel safe.

So tonight, if you visit me in my dreams,
I won’t ask for forever.
Just a moment.

Let me hold you again—
not with my arms, but with my heart.
The same heart you filled with loyalty, comfort, and a love that never learned how to leave.

They say dreams are just our minds wandering…
but anyone who has loved a pet knows better.
Sometimes, it’s not memory.
It’s reunion.

If you’ve ever hoped your furry angel would find you in your sleep,
you’re not alone.
Love doesn’t end.
It just finds quieter ways to return. 🐾✨

If this made you think of someone you miss, tell me their name below.
Your love keeps them alive.

ā€œThey deserve to be rememberedā€

The Last Walk 🐾

I didn’t know it was the last one when we stepped outside.
I just knew something felt… slower.

You didn’t pull ahead like you used to.
Didn’t rush me.
Didn’t ask for more distance.
You stayed close — close like you were memorizing me.

Every few steps, you looked back.
Not scared.
Not confused.
Just checking in… like, ā€œYou’re still there, right?ā€

We walked our usual path.
Nothing special.
And somehow, everything was.

The tree you once barked at like it insulted your family.
The bridge where you’d stop and sniff forever.
Places that never knew they were holding our memories.

Your leash felt lighter in my hand.
Or maybe my heart was heavier.

The sky turned that soft evening gold —
the kind of light that makes everything look kinder than it is.
And for a moment, I imagined you the way you used to be.
Faster. Louder. Unstoppable.

Then reality caught up.

When we got home, you rested your head against me.
No drama.
No fear.
Just trust.

Later, the house felt wrong.
Too quiet.
Too still.
Like it was holding its breath with me.

I didn’t cry over the big things.
I cried over the small ones.
An empty leash.
A quiet floor.
A bowl that didn’t need filling.

Grief is strange like that.

So tonight, I left the bowl out.
Not because I expect you to come back…
but because love doesn’t know how to stop showing up.

If you’ve ever loved a pet like family,
you already understand this kind of goodbye.

Tell me their name.
Say it out loud here.
They deserve to be remembered. šŸ¾šŸ¤

We have some small granite urns in stock now.

These urns are for animals less than 50 pounds. We have different options for larger pets, up to horses.

These can be engraved on the top and up to four sides. They really turn out beautiful!

Let’s make a tribute to your loved one together.

Meet Lucius.

December 26th we got a call about a Malinois/GSD whose new parents weren’t up to the task of raising a land shark. He was returned to the breeder, whom we also got our Lola from. Louie is actually Lola’s brother from another litter.

We lost Lola last year in an unfortunate accident. And things haven’t been the same around here since. Lola was my workout buddy, my riding buddy, and just made herself one of the biggest parts of my life. She was just gone. And my family was devastated.

I am a monument maker, yet her project remains undone…. I understand all about trying to pour from an empty cup. I’ll do it when I’m ready to sit with that sadness, as that is the very reason Paws exists.

We’ve been looking for a new pup, but just weren’t ready. Had a foster, Pig, for a little bit. And even had my Mom’s dog down here for an extended holiday.

The breeder called us, knowing we wanted a pup this next year, and knowing our story, she called us first. We went to meet him, and amidst the tears flowing, we decided to bring Lucius home.

He’s only five months old now, and we’ve already had him nearly a month. Which means those people who purchased him didn’t even give him a chance. 3-3-3 with pups….. 3 days to decompress, three weeks to learn your routine, three months before they truly feel at home.

Belgian Malinois are the most surrendered breed of dog there is. People buy them as cute, adorable fuzzy little bears. But I don’t think anyone is fully prepared for the 3-36 months phase. If you aren’t willing to live your life for your dog, do not get a Mal. If you’re not willing to totally uproot your life and redesign it around your dog, please do not get a Mal. And even if you have one, and you think you can handle it, don’t breed…. alter. There are too many awesome Maligators sitting in shelters around the world because people simply do not know what they’re getting into. I didn’t either, but my pets ARE family. And there is no quit anywhere in me when it comes to family.

Today is Louie’s first day in the shop. He’s like a dump truck full of nitroglycerin driving through a mirror shop. But he’s just a baby.
