We still miss you Maggie. We still talk about you and you have company in a big duffus named Baldur. So, you and our other pups can keep each other company. You were a Great Dog. But do were our other ones. And your latest playmate was a good boy also. He like you didn’t get a chance at a full life but you did get a life filled with love.

Magnus Piros Hund Update:

Mags is back at Veterinary Healthcare Associates ER and is getting tests. He seems to have bloat and an issue with his digestive tract now. He had come home for a few days while still going back everyday for shots. He started to eat. We had gotten him a Bailey chair from Chunks chairs in Bradenton FL. John from John’s K9 had worked with Donna to figure out the how he could use it. Because he was home and eating Donna had him go to his groomer at Lakeland Pet salon because he was smelling funky and because of the excessive drool he was breaking out under his chin. The ran a test to see if the weakness in the hind legs was due to myasthenia gravis which isn’t common in large breed dog but can come with severe illness. We have not gotten those results back yet. Donna is there with him so if she’s not answering your calls it’s because she’s with him or speaking to staff. We thought he was out of the woods but these little things keep popping up. Donna has been talking to Dr Platt thru out the process and she has been a great help. Please keep him and Donna in your prayers as we move thru the process.

Magnus Piros Hund Update:
Our boy is holding his own. His edema is going down. His liver numbers have gone up 20 points his kidney numbers are hovering at 1.9 to 2.1 so not great. He lost a lot of weight and he’s still having issues holding down food. He was 152 when he was neutered and 143 when he was first admitted to the ER/ICU and now he’s about 131. So they recommended using a Bailey chair which we found a local source for. He came home two nights ago but went back yesterday and spent another night in the hospital because they thought he had twisted gut issue. Turn out it’s something that mimics that condition. My wife got him to eat a bit of food before he came home but he only ate one meatball of the special diet food they sent home so they kept him overnight last night to run a few more tests and a scan. He is going home again this evening. Still asking for prayers 🙏🏻 for us. And I would like to say thank you to whoever did an anonymous donation to the veterinarian hospital for the care of our boy. My wife said she wishes she knew who it was so she could thank them directly from her heart. He has a rough road ahead but he is improving and the doctors think he is going to pull thru.

So, we went and visited Magnus yesterday in the afternoon. We met with the veterinarian and some quality time with our boy. We hand fed him and Donna went outside with the vet and Mags. His numbers seem to be improving except for the pancreatic numbers. But they think he has a little pancreatitis which might be a side effect of septic infection. Donna got down on the floor with him and watched Scooby Do while hand feeding him. He has a wound on his front right leg just above the paw. It was from one of his lines blowing and meds getting under his skin. His edema seem to be better on his hind legs and according to the doctor they have been measuring it and it’s going down. We are very pleased with the staff at this hospital and Parkway also. After the visit we met with the financial person and stated formulating a payment plan. So, I’m asking for prayers one more time for Mags, Donna and prayers for more donations to his Go Fund site or as some of my friends have sent thru my Cash App since the don’t like Go Fund Me. Magnus Update:
He’s still in ICU but doctors are more hopeful and he ate a little last night. They are switching him to oral meds this morning. He is in a harness so they can help him stand every couple hours. It takes 4 people to lift him even though he lost about 20 or 25 pounds. His kidney blood work is getting better. Donna is going today to sit with him. His drain from 2nd surgery might come out today. The edema drain will remain. He has an ulcer from all the surgeries and lack of food but doctors think it will heal when he starts eating.
