With years of animal rescue and fostering experience between them, a group of friends recognized the need for a canine only rescue group in the Triad area. Consolidating their shared goal to help dogs of all breeds find the best possible home, while also matching adopters with their ideal companion, they joined forces to create a new rescue group. Stones Canine Rescue is a charitable and educational non-profit corporation, located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our volunteers share an enthusiasm for dogs and support a mission to rescue, protect, provide sanctuary and ultimately find adoptive families for abandoned, stray and neglected dogs. All of our dogs are housed in foster homes where they are provided with an enormous amount of love and any medical attention needed to insure their best health before adoption. All dogs are evaluated for temperament and personality, helping us to place them in homes that are well suited to their needs and to the needs of their future family.

Babe exudes happiness wherever she goes - especially when you talk to her 🥰 We shifted Babe to a different foster home yesterday since her puppies are fully weaned and she was ready to give up her mom duties. Now she can just be a dog, free of parental responsibilities! Since several people have asked, Babe will not attend the yoga event tomorrow. She will be going to the vet next week for vaccines and heartworm testing, and then she will have her spay. As long as all goes well, we anticipate being able to introduce her to people in about 2 weeks, so stay tuned!

The May Flowers litter started the weaning process this week. And they got toys for the first time today. April saw the toys and jumped back into the pen. Poor girl just wants to hoard some mini plushies, we guess 😭 Can't have nice things with all these kids around!

The pups are 4 and a half weeks now and growing like weeds! Their mom April was found as an emaciated and pregnant stray. We don't have a way to confirm who the puppies' father is, however there was a male German Shepherd dumped in the same place on the same day that April showed up. Stay tuned for more on them as their little personalities develop!

Our boy Fritz is ready to find his forever home!

Breed: French Bulldog

DOB: estimated at 5 years old

Weight: 27 lbs

Likes/ Favorite Things- Fritz loves to just hang out with his people, and occasionally chasing a squeaky toy

Dislikes- small children and large dominate dogs. He has little man syndrome and likes being the one to call the shots and make the rules

Crate Trained/House Broken- YES Fritz is 100% house trained and settles in his crate quietly after a few mins of occasional whining

Fenced Yard Required- no, Fritz doesn’t need a lot of exercise or outside time alone, he’s perfectly happy with a few short walks a day to potty

Energy Level- low mostly but does love to fetch and play with toys for a few minutes here and there

Medical Care: Fritz has had all age appropriate shots, is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention, neutered and has been microchipped.

Foster Notes: No children under 13, no large dogs, preferably one other small dog who is very submissive and friendly or none, and bulldog experience. Fritz is a great dog for the right family, he’s fairly quiet and easy to handle in the right environment, does great with adults, small dogs and cats. He’s a huge couch potato and loves to snuggle but he does love going on adventures.

It's time! Our Frozen litter goes to the vet tomorrow for their first checkups and vaccines! They will be ready for their big debut on Saturday at puppy yoga at Gypsy-Road Brewing Company!

Ana, Elsa, Sven, Hans, Olaf, and Kristoff will attend our yoga class at 11 and will remain there from noon - 2 pm for people to come meet them. The puppies are Chiweenies born 4/9/2026, so they will be 7 weeks old tomorrow and will be ready to go to new homes next weekend when they are 8 weeks old. Puppy butts in the sun 🌞 The little babes are enjoying spending some time in this nice weather and learning about grass! They just turned 5 weeks on Thursday. In the next 2 weeks, they will see the vet for checkups and first vaccines. And THEN they will be ready to meet everyone! The date is set for puppy yoga on May 30th, and we will remain onsite with them for a bit afterwards for people to spend time with them. Can't wait to introduce them to you all!

When you're just trying to eat dinner and your kids won't leave you alone 😆

These babies are on the move and trying out their voices! We will be updating their pen space this weekend as they turn 3 weeks old. Notice, we use raised bowls for mama and puppies. Not only because it's better for a bigger mama dog's digestion, but also because it doesn't take much for a little one to tip into a big water bowl and drown.
