We planted our peppers today. They were looking awful in the grow tent so if we happen to get one last freeze they were probably going to die anyway. 🤷‍♀️ Hopefully they can recover! Tomatoes are next, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday!

We also spread a whole bunch of pine needles (thanks Bridget đź’š) on the outside of the beds for w**d control.

Looks like tonight could be the last of the plant killing cold nights. Maybe?We usually wait until Mother’s Day weekend...

We usually wait until Mother’s Day weekend to put cold sensitive plants in the ground (tomatoes, peppers, squash) but I want to plant nowwwwww. Is anyone going to risk planting earlier?

If anyone is planning on buying plants next Saturday at the Mother Road Farmer’s Market, it might be a good idea to bring your own boxes to carry them home in!

Senior and WIC coupon sign ups this week at the senior center, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. More Senior and WIC coupon signs up at the library, TBD. Come sign up for coupons and support local farmers at the farmers market! First market of the season is on April 25th, so let’s get these coupons!

We are out of seed starting pots and room to put them! Lemon cucumber, silver sliver cucumber, sugar baby watermelon, cal sweet bush watermelon, tendergreen cucumber, Georgia collards, delicata squash, blue Hubbard squash, spaghetti squash, straight neck yellow squash, ruby red Swiss chard, white patty pan, zucchini, butternut squash, and cat grass!
Time to zip up the grow tent and turn up its heater to make sure everything is ready to sell at the first Farmer’s Market!

Got the squashes started! Blue Hubbard, Spaghetti, Straightneck Yellow, Delicata, Patty Pan, Zucchini, and Butternut. 🥰
