Good morning! ☀️🍓

We just finished planting our strawberry plugs, and it’s the perfect time to get yours in the ground, too!

Strawberries need a period of winter chill to produce well, so planting now gives the roots time to get established before winter and prepares the plants for a delicious crop of berries in the spring. ❤️

We planted ours in black plastic to help retain moisture and keep weeds under control. If you’re planting a smaller patch, you don’t have to use plastic, but you’ll want to protect your plants during extreme cold, especially during severe freezes.

We still have several trays of June-bearing strawberry plugs available! These little plants are ready for their new homes and need to be planted in the ground or in pots soon.

Fresh sourdough just delivered! 🍞

If you haven’t tried Family Farmstead sourdough, you’re missing out! It’s wonderful for sandwiches and French toast, and we made bread pudding with it this weekend. It’s also perfect alongside a bowl of soup or simply toasted with butter and jam. 😋

Leah uses a long fermentation process that helps break down some of the wheat proteins and gives the bread that delicious, classic sourdough flavor.

Every princess has her glow-up… and Turks cap is no exception! 😂🌺

Turks cap is one of those plants that can seem so plain and simple until it blooms. Then suddenly, she’s the star of the show!

We have another exciting announcement for the farm store!! 🌱

Our lovely friends over at Rafter S Farms ETX just dropped off her amazing vegetable and herb starts, so you can get a head start on your fall garden! And y’all… she brought some gorgeous Texas natives, too. 😍

We are SO excited to have these beautiful plants here for you. There’s something pretty special about being able to shop local and get your garden started with plants grown right here in East Texas.

We picked this stuff TODAY, y’all. You really can’t get much fresher than straight off the farm! 😍

We’ve got our premium salad mix, turnips with the prettiest greens, and some HUGE watermelon radishes. There’s also arugula, radishes, bell peppers, rosemary, and jalapeños in the produce fridge and lots of winter squash.

Come on out to the farm and see what’s fresh! 🌱 We’ve been busy picking and stocking the store, and there’s a good little variety waiting for you today.

Here’s what we have fresh from the farm:

🍆 Eggplant
🥒 A few zucchini
🎃 Butternut, acorn & spaghetti squash
🌿 Arugula
🫑 Bell peppers & poblanos
🌶️ Jalapeños

🌿 Fresh rosemary
🌱 Radishes

We also just restocked our eggs, have plenty of local raw honey, and we’re expecting a fresh restock of beef, chicken and pork sometime today!

Okay y’all, we have a NEW product in the store and I am SO excited about this one! 🔥🌿

Saidie is local to us and she makes these beautiful fire c***rs using herbs she grows herself. Everything else she uses is certified organic, too!

It’s apple c***r vinegar packed with organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs. They come in quarts and half gallons, and when you bring one home, you’ll find the strain-by date right on the top.

Once it’s ready, you strain it and take a shot each day. And if that vinegar bite is a little much for you, add some local, raw honey to taste. 🍯

And here’s another thing I love about it... you don’t have to throw those solids away! Blend them up and add them to your garden or compost. 🌱

Local maker + homegrown herbs + organic ingredients + almost zero waste?

Yeah. I’m pretty excited about this one. 😂❤️
