🎀 Calla GBF 🎀
11yo | 15.2hh | Carush x TB | Wilmington, Ohio

https://youtu.be/FFyGCY5fvsY?feature=shared

Meet Calla GBF: a beautiful, kind, and careful mare with the training, temperament, and presence to become someone’s next life long partner. With an impressive eventing record, experience through Second Level, and Small Horse Championship ribbons already to her name, she has the ability to take a confident AA or Junior toward exciting goals. Pony Cup neck ribbons in 2027 anyone?

Perfect ground manners, sweet and careful as the day is long, and absolutely loves to stand there and let you fuss over her all day. She is not mareish at all—and can we talk about how pretty she is?!

In her training, Calla has an impressive show record in eventing, but has decided that she would prefer a dressage-focused home. She has shown through Second Level with respectable scores. She also has aspects of Third Level started. This mare is a lateral queen and is very proficient in shoulder-in, haunches-in, and half pass. She would love to teach someone the ropes of these movements and continue developing up the levels with her person. She also hacks out well both alone and with others and enjoys getting out of the arena, making her a fun horse to have around for more than just training, but also as a friend and partner.

Calla is a forward-thinking, but safely so, mare who is sensitive and methodical in her work. She can take a joke, but would much rather have a tactful rider who takes their time and has the guidance of a trainer. She would be suitable for a confident AA or junior in a program looking for a talented horse to develop with. She is the type of horse who really rewards a rider who appreciates a sensitive, intelligent horse.

Calla is low maintenance in the barn, is currently stabled next to a gelding with no issues. She has front shoes, and no vices . She does all the good horse things; loading, hauling, bathing, handling dogs and kids running around the barn, tying, and farrier—with the grace and poise that you would expect from a horse with this look and resume.

Calla is priced attractively for a quick sale.

If you’re looking for a show stoping, beautiful mare with a great work ethic and the potential to be a true partner Calla could be the girl for you.

Serious inquiries welcome.

One of the highlights of our whirlwind last week of September was participating in an AHS breed inspection at Luminescent Farm with Honore H2O. ✨

First, let me give my little soap box blurb:

TAKE your sport horse mares to a breed inspection.

Take them to their own breed, another breed, whatever is appropriate—even if you have absolutely no plans to breed your mare.

The unbiased outside evaluation is invaluable. It can give you another perspective on her conformation, movement, and overall quality, while also helping you better understand how those traits may contribute to her performance as a sport horse. Beyond the evaluation itself, I think it is simply a wonderful experience for the horses. I love seeing mares presented when they are sound, fit, and looking their best in work.

Now, onto our results. 🤍

Honore H2O (Harvest x Desperado x Krack C), bred in the US by Kendra Hansis , was inspected and accepted into the Hanoverian Mare Book as well as named Site Champion!

She received several 8s, including an 8 for her walk, trot, and neck.

Honore is such a powerful yet delicate mare, and it was incredibly special to see her all dolled up and presented at the inspection. She has matured so much over the past year, and seeing that development come together in this setting was a really rewarding moment.

A HUGE thank you to Luminescent Farm for hosting the inspection and, even more importantly, for taking such amazing care of my girl during her breeding hiatus.

And another HUGE thank you to Stefanie and Kacey for holding my hand through the process and helping manage Bubbles’ pregnancy. I truly could not do this without you both. 🤍

There are so many people behind these horses and these moments, and I am incredibly grateful for every one of them.

And now, the next chapter…

Honore is bred to Proud James for a 2027 FILLY! ✨

I cannot wait to see what these two produce.

What a whirlwind of a week!

Four states, four incredible events, and a week spent doing so many of the things I love with the people I love. I truly enjoy going pedal-to-the-metal and finding a way to blend my interests, passions, horses, and life into one wild adventure.

Scott Gore Clinic
AHS Breed Inspection
Dressage at Devon
CRC Ranch Roping Competition

A pretty incredible mix of disciplines, experiences, and horses and somehow, we fit it all into one week.

Individual recaps of each coming soon! 🤎

This was such a fun episode to be a part of!!

Ever wondered why quality horses cost what they do—or why running a horse facility feels like an uphill financial battle? 🐴💸

This week on the Dressage Radio Show, Reese & Megan dive deep into the real economics of the equine world! 🎧✨

What’s in this episode:

Behind the Price Tag: Jessica Gaston breaks down the surprising, real-world numbers behind selling a single quality horse.

The Economic Disconnect: Equine economist & UK professor Dr. Jill Stowe drops by to unpack the huge gap between the actual cost of producing, training, and housing a horse vs. what buyers expect to pay.

Championship Updates: Heidi Basler brings us an exclusive report straight from the FEI World Equestrian Championships in Aachen! 🇩🇪🏆

Whether you're buying, selling, or just trying to make the math make sense, you don't want to miss this reality check.

👇 Drop your thoughts in the comments! Have you noticed this disconnect in the market?

146 people are shopping for and can afford a high-five-figure, Third Level horse in the USA.

Now, full disclosure: I’m super dyslexic, so math and numbers are not exactly my strong suit. 😅But since my usual conversational partner is taking a nap, I decided to record myself thinking through this little market scenario instead.

What do you think? Is this accurate?

Is the market really slow, or is there simply more product than there are qualified buyers? I could 100% get on the soapbox of why these horses cost this much and why they are worth that much. I’m just interested in how many people are actually able to purchase them.

I’d genuinely love to hear what you’re seeing and have a conversation about it. 👇

Super day at Luminescent Farm teaching group of super dedicated and passionate riders!

I love going to such a supportive community first farm, and seeing theses riders improve and come ready for homework every month. Students like this are what make my job so rewarding and I’m so grateful for them.

Check out peytonpentecost and her young mare finding the balance 🤩
