I love what the rural humane group is trying to do, but I’d love to see one at the state level.
Dept of ag only sets standards for a certain level of rescue, but I’d love to help create a state specific set of standards and expectations, and also groups to help share resources and be able to buy into things like shelters united

Do better Allies For Community Cats Inc.

When rescues post harmful messaging discouraging spay and neuter, we SHOULD push back, educate our peers, and have dialogue.

Unfortunately, not all organizations are mature enough to have feedback, or even be open to reading new information that doesn’t align with their “feelings” which is a shame. 

I’m happy for you that your goal is pi***ng people off. I hope that your donors also consider your goals when deciding if they’d like to make contributions to your organization.

Helen Keller still doesn’t feel good. We had to have a little more encouragement than I’d like this morning to be convinced we wanted to get up for breakfast, but once she did she did file her complaints of the human not moving fast enough. We’re walking a little stiffer than usual, but we treated for a teeeeny fever last night. Hoping maybe my spidey sense is off and it’s a vaccine reaction and not something more serious, but still not feeling great

Posts like this can be harmful to rescue. So honestly, I’m tired of rescues and their ai slop opinions, that’s not rooted in any sort of science or data. Especially when this is the last message the general public needs to hear

Kittens can reproduce at 16 weeks. We are all drowning in kittens, and it’s the worst it’s ever been in my almost 20 years of rescue.

Koret has actual DATA, real research that shows that outcomes are just as safe at 1.5lbs/6weeks.

No GOOD vet isn’t assessing cats. No GOOD vet is going to push through and risk the health of any animal if they aren’t appropriate for spay neuter

But to suggest that rescues have some financial motivation for this is gross. Our adoption fees don’t even begin to cover their care, heck sometimes it barely covers the spay and neuter.

If you’re going to be an advocate for cats, read some literature, and do better than thinking “bUt i FeEl” with ai slop. And don’t be dumb in the comments folks. DOGS have some questionable outcomes spaying and neutering young, NOT cats. So let’s not play the I don’t want to google research game on a lovely Friday.
