🦃 Thanksgiving at WEC? Yes, please! 🐴
We were so busy at the show that I completely failed to get ribbon photos, but our horses and riders held themselves to a standard that I have to brag about…
✨Congratulations to Dawn and ITS Queen Cleopatra on their solid trail performance and winning the sport horse in hand open! We loved cheering for Cleo under the lights of the Hotel Grand ✨
🌹Blakely Compton and Raindrops on Roses moved up to the all ages division in the working hunters! This kid held her own as the tiniest one of the bunch and brought home a reserve championship! The pair also moved up a level in dressage, earning solid, respectable scores and ribbons! 🌹
🤠 Emma Walsh was a busy lady! She guided DA Maxton to a first place in his intro level western dressage. She also braved the hotel grand in front of lots of scary brunch goers, earning him a third place in the Western Dressage Suitability Open. Emma also rode Al-Marah Mambo Queen to two 1st place rides in training level and first level dressage. They also earned a first and second place in basic and first level western dressage. Before their rides, Emma showed ducky in the in-hand trail, earning 3 firsts and one second! Emma somehow also managed to show her horse SW Always My Girl “Hope”, earning first place in showmanship and multiple ribbons in Western Dressage. This was Hope’s first show back after time off due to an injury so we were very cautious… All I can say is thank goodness for Synchill! 🤠
🦆 Sophie Flexman participated in her first showmanship class ever, having only two quick lessons to learn showmanship beforehand. She and Ducky were the perfect pair and placed fifth out of a large class! Sophie also snuck in a few intro level dressage rides, earning her second place! 🦆
🐴 Jaclyn Johnson… although, technically she comes from her own farm Jaclyn started trail training with us this summer, hoping to gain some new skills. We are so grateful for her enthusiasm and the way she pairs so well with the rest of our group! Jaclyn and her stallion gave a beautiful trail performance this last week, earning first place. I cannot wait to see what they do next 🐴
💜 La Phaedra CP had the honor of attending as a Keystone Ambassador Horse, representing sport horses! ”Pebbles” loves people and soaked up every moment of her meet and greets.
🍀 Happy Go Lucky came out this year to school and have her first ever visit to the World Equestrian Center. This horse had a lot of firsts - from riding in the indoor, to trying out the dressage ring, and much more. You would have never known, because she took it all like a pro! Lucky’s success and progress is because she has the best owner and rider in Franchesca. Franchesca is the epitome of patience, bravery, and commitment, and I am proud to have her riding with us. When she wasn’t taking care of her horse, Franchesca made this show possible for the rest of us – she fed, cleaned, held horses, ran, and was the best cheerleader anyone could ask for 🍀
I’m going to be honest, sometimes I struggle with these posts. There are so many things that makes our group great - and so many memories that I could go on and on about. Thank you so much to everyone on our team, and thank you so much to our sponsors.
Thank you to my fellow board members in the Arabian Horse Association of Florida and Keystone Arabian Horse Experience. I’m surrounded by so many talented people with such vision. This Thanksgiving, I am more than thankful.
