Please take a minute to read this PSA as you're making your plans to celebrate Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Shelters and animal control facilities typically see a 30% to 60% increase in lost pets from July 4th to July 6th. The sad fact is that only around 14% of lost pets are returned home. The single biggest reason? They can't be identified! But a registered microchip changes those odds dramatically!!

Dogs are more than 2× as likely to come home and cats go from almost never coming home to more than 1 in 3. 😢

July fourth is an exciting summer holiday but can be a stressful time for your pets due to the noise and flashing of fireworks. Here is how you can prepare and other tips to avoid escape while making them more comfortable!
☑️ Make sure all ID tags and microchip information is up to date. Pets should wear tags whether inside or out.
☑️ Examine yard and home for any possible areas for escape. Fix these beforehand.
☑️ Meet with your vet before to discuss options to help keep your pet calm.
☑️ Desensitize your pet by playing firework sounds softly with treats.

On the day of…
💥Keep your pet inside, possibly in a crate or gated area to avoid escape and provide a calming environment with favorite toys and bedding.
💥If you plan to have guests, make them aware by discussing to help keep an eye out and be careful when using any exit points.
💥Have sounds to drown out fire works such as music, TV, white noise, or a fan.
💥Stay home with your pet or leave them with someone you trust. Do not take your pet to watch fireworks.

Learn Animal Reiki ❤🐾🙏

Do you feel an inner calling to promote kindness to animals? Do you want to learn meditation techniques to help ease the suffering of animals of all species?

This class will certify you in Level 1 Animal Reiki in the Let Animals Lead® Method. The Let Animals Lead® Method of Animal Reiki encourages animal agency and was created by Kathleen Prasad. This method sees animals as spiritual healers and teachers, emphasizing the virtues of humility, integrity compassion, and gratitude in its practitioners. This unique method also uses an approach that gives animals the same consideration in comfort and preferences during Reiki sessions as human beings. See more information below.

Starting in July, 2026

(4 weekly classes, 4 hours each class to total 16 hours)

Classes will be held in Wilmington, NC

What you will learn:

All the foundational teachings for the Let Animals Lead® Method, including:

- The traditional Japanese meaning of Reiki and how it relates to the healing of self and others.

- Traditional practice of Joshin Kokyu Ho and Seishin Toitsu, and how to use them with animals.

- The Reiki Precepts, and meditations for working with them with animals.

- Hands-on Reiki self-treatment, and how to incorporate animals into these sessions.

- Best ethics for sharing Reiki with animals.

- Reiki chair sessions for people.

- Techniques for grounding, expansion, and connection to help you become an animal magnet to even the most sensitive animals.

- A philosophy of “being” Reiki “with” your animals, rather than “doing” Reiki “to” them.



What you’ll receive:

- A life-changing month with inspirational animal teachers in Wilmington, NC.

- An extensive and in-depth professional manual to guide your journey.
