Let's talk a little more about Charlotte! If you remember, Charlotte came to us back in April, she was found abandoned in a truck with her 3 week old puppies. Charlotte had no issues with us entering that vehicle, collecting her pups and loading everyone in our truck to come to the shelter. Charlotte was an amazing mother! She never fretted or gave us any grief when handling her babies. Charlotte has been in a couple foster homes and for that we are grateful as we've gained more valuable information about her demeanor. Charlotte has been to adoption events with other dogs and did great. She loves people, children, is actually fine with cats, (her most recent week away there were several cats in the home with no issues) and dogs, but she does want to be the Alpha. She's never done anything alarming, she just lets the other dog in the home know she wants to be the boss. No dog in a home should lose their status as Alpha to a new dog coming in the home. She has shown no aggression, so that's a good thing. Charlotte walks good on a leash and is housebroken, she loves her toys, squeaky are her favorite, and she will definitely go for that squeaker. Charlotte has been spayed and is current on vaccines, deworming, and flea/tick prevention. Charlotte weighs 65 pounds and is about 2 1/2 years old. She loves walks and adores our regular volunteers so much, she knows when they come, she's going for a walk. Please help us get Charlotte's story out there, she's a great dog. It's sad to see her in her kennel day after day with minimal activity. We do our best to keep all the dogs enriched, but when you're looking at the same four walls every day, it starts to wear on their mental health.
