Pups and Pints Adoption Event!

Be sure to come out Saturday, June 13th to Frothy Moon Brewhouse in Williamsburg from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM and meet these adorable little dogs. It's going to be hot, but fun. Bring your own chair and sunblock.

Sadly, Ella’s owner, Charles Woody, passed away unexpectedly one week ago. Charles was a very kind, considerate, thoughtful man and he will be greatly missed. One of our foster dads, Ralph Yzzi, was one of Charles best friends. The two of them had agreed to take care of, or find a good home for, each other’s dog. Of course, because Charles was so young no one expected that Ella would be looking for a home so soon. We are hoping that one of you will have the perfect home for Ella.

Ella is only one year old, so still very much a puppy. She plays well with other dogs and does have lots of energy so a playmate would be great for her. She also needs a fenced yard. She is a little bit bigger than the dogs we normally have here but she’s only 38 pounds so she’s the perfect size for taking on long walks, but also for snuggling with on the couch.

She is up-to-date on her vaccines and heartworm negative. We are getting her spayed and microchipped soon and then she will be ready to leave.

Isn't she the most ridiculously cute beagle you have ever seen? It looks like she is just begging for someone to go get her, so of course we are.

We had to move a few dogs around but thanks to our fosters and our driver, Bob Tubbs, this cutie will be arriving later today.

We heard she is a little shy or timid around people, but we have such great fosters who have been fostering for us for over 10 years we know they understand how to work with these little beagles who was probably a hunting dog and not really socialized much with people. We know once she figures out she gets to sleep inside, play with toys, snuggle on the couch, and get lots of love she will decide this is the life for her.

MADDY IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

Maddy is a wonderful little Shih-Tzu/Terrier mix who is about 5 years old. A friendlier, more loving pup would be hard to find. She loves little soft toys to chew and chase when she is not following you around the house or garden. She very much wants to be with her people and hasn't met a person she doesn't like. The foster parents had house guests and she spent time snuggling with everyone to make sure all got a dose of her love.

She eats well, likes treats, and walks nicely on a leash. She does start after squirrels or bunnies, but responds to, "No," and settles quickly.

Maddy had a rough start. She came to the shelter as part of an animal cruelty case and when she arrived she had a large hernia that required surgery. She is now healed and feeling great. She has had a few accidents in the house, but with a consistent schedule and feeding times, that has settled.

She is also almost unusually quiet for a small dog and only barks a bit when someone new comes to the door. She loves her crate and sometimes goes in on her own during the day. Because she was restricted from stairs after her surgery, she slept quietly downstairs in her crate in the foster home, but we suspect she would love to snuggle closer if you want her near at night. She is a special little girl who just wants people to be with and to love.
