Leigh and Ryan recently relocated from Chicago to Western Massachusetts, near where I've been staying for a few months. They have a stunning old farmhouse in excellent condition, but weren't feeling the sky blue kitchen floor. Referencing a blog post Ryan tracked down, I reimagined the space thanks to 's floor paint and careful measuring methods across the wonderfully wavy warping of the wooden floor boards. The second photo in the slides is most accurate of the colors in natural lighting.

I'm heading back to California soon, so if you're tired of looking at linoleum, tile, wood, cement or even vinyl floors that aren't your taste, message me for a dreamy alternative! 🎨🧰❤️✌️

This is a film photo took of me on my disposable fuji camera to illustrate that I can and make "home" wherever I go. We were traveling to for a residency that turned out differently than planned. My body shut down and said "NO. I need a rest, a reset," and resisted labor until I heeded its request. Instead of rebuilding a cabin, I was Ghazal's sous chef and delighted in plucking every tender tendril from the vegetable and herb garden for daily lunch communion.

I'm now near Boston, MA having myself a little adventure with , a loyal hound indeed. We drove across the country and are enjoying variances in nature, architecture, and American culture.

I love working, though. It grounds me when the world feels squiggly, provides structure within the guaranteed chaos of existence. While I'm on the east coast, I'd like to take on painting and carpentry projects in gentle doses while also making music and writing poetry and swimming in ponds within heavily spruced woods as my puppy sniffs the sticky air for new information.

In my absence from L.A., I have assembled a trusted team of competent and creative associates who are actually friends and family within our community who possess my strong work ethic and eye for detail. Send me an email with any and all requests and I'll do my best to keep this home beautification revelation running for you. Whether far or near, you are all still my dear neighbors and I thank you ✨🧰❤️😘

Deck refinish for Michael, Emily, Autumn, and Oz! Michael admitted to being "indecisive yet picky, so I usually end up settling on greys and browns and calling it a day." I was up for the challenge and this is the result!

Despite some gusty winds, we managed to beat the heat and home in on a color combo that complements the colors of the house without compromising taste. The greens found in the succulents and awning pop beautifully.

What if I showed up to refinish your deck wearing this instead of that? 😂 Honestly, my clothes rack collapsed and while fixing it, I rediscovered a favorite vintage dress that I thought was long-gone.

Presenting: the painted floor!

This is actually my own lovely home, a century-old cottage with original hardwood floors...that are falling apart. Normally I prefer to sand and refinish wood to preserve original vintage beauty, but this situation called for more drastic measures.

To prevent it from literally coming apart at the seams, I first applied wood filler in the broken bits, then sanded smooth. Next, I rolled on two coats of bonding primer to serve as an adhesive in lieu of sanding the entire floor, which wasn't advisable in its condition. Then I applied two coats of low-voc gloss enamel paint. I wanted a rich, dark brown to ground the lightness of the walls and ceiling. I also wanted to stop there, but the enamel felt sticky even after hours of curing. Dust showed with the lightest of sock-covered footprints. So lastly, I brushed on clear gloss varnish to seal the deal and voila!

The result is beauty and depth, two of my favorite qualities in any creature but especially a floor. The boards are now bonded and protected from further wear and tear and will require minimal upkeep until ultimately replaced.

I'm happy to offer this service to clients and can discuss work-arounds so we don't have to move furniture 😅

I sanded, rinsed, and stained the fence with Natural Redwood, then painted the gate Purple Lotus by . Both supplied by the lovely folks at .paint.
