🤍 I laid my Mirra girl to rest on June 30th.

This is the part you are never prepared for.

Even though she was sick, and we knew it was coming.

Even though it meant she would no longer be suffering.

Mirra was my first pet…she came to me when I needed her most in life and when she needed me just as much (the cat distribution system never fails).

She was there with me through college graduation, my first big girl job, a few breakups, so, so many seasons of life.

Mirra absolutely loved snuggling under my neck for her own comfort but for mine too. Her warmth and love forced me to own my identity - a cat person.

I’m getting to a place of acceptance that Mi isn’t waiting for me to come home and that I won’t wake up with her laying next to me.

I don’t know what the cat afterlife looks like, but I like to imagine she’s living it up - hunting birds, touching grass, and eating all the Chick-fil-A nuggets she desires.

I love you forever 🪽
