When bringing home a new dog, even if they’re not a young puppy… it’s always wise to remember to show them patience and kindness! You never know what they went through before you, but it is up to you to make them comfortable.
The 3:3:3 rule is a good rule of thumb for bringing home a new dog! Being understanding can go a long way!
While Whiskey was not a stranger to me, or my dogs, it has taken some time to get to know her better. It’s taken time to make her feel relaxed, and safe in our home.
Here’s my husband giving her some 1:1 time as they slowly work on their bond. She’s naturally been bonded to me since I met her, so her building this relationship with my husband is essential. 🩵
Remember, patience and kindness is the first step! 🩵
