‼️URGENT DONATIONS NEEDED‼️

Spring and summer are here, and while that usually means sunshine and new life, it also brings one of our toughest challenges of the year—fleas, ticks, and an overwhelming number of animals needing help.

Our rescue is located out in the country, and this year the ticks are especially severe. To keep our animals safe and healthy, flea and tick prevention isn’t optional—it’s absolutely necessary.

Here’s what we’re facing right now:
• A 3-month supply of flea/tick prevention for our dogs costs around $1,500
• Treating just 50 cats each month costs about $1,250—and we typically care for around 70.
• Our current vet bill is nearing $9,000 from just the past few months
• This is also our highest intake season for cats and kittens, meaning even more vaccinations, treatments, and surgeries.

We are doing everything we can, but we can’t do it alone.

FOUND MALE DOG

This is NOT the female dog in town that we’ve been trying to catch!!

Neutered male dog, young, found on Cole Creek Rd right outside of Leon. Knows basic commands and loaded up in the back of the truck without hesitation so he must belong somewhere.

Please message if you know where this boy belongs! He is NOT in the care of Hickory at this time.

Anyone have any older washers that work that they don’t use anymore?!

Unfortunately both of our washers are struggling and we are in need of two!

We actually prefer the older version top loaders too! Nothing new and fancy!! We seem to have more issues with the fancy newer ones than the older ones!

🐾 Help Our Shelter Pups Beat the Heat! 🐾

With these hot days, we’re looking for a little help to keep our dogs cool, comfortable, and happy while they spend time outside. 💙

We’re in need of plastic kiddie pools—our pups absolutely love them! They’re great for cooling off and having some fun, but they do tend to wear out pretty quickly.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
• About 10–12 small pools (36-inch)
• A few larger pools (59-inch) for our bigger play areas

If you’d like to donate one (or more!), we would be so grateful! You can either drop them off or we’re happy to arrange a time to pick them up—just send us a message.

🍀 ADOPT LEO! 🍀

Leo is a handsome young kitty who’s just under a year old and already full of love to give. He’s extremely friendly and affectionate, the kind of cat who will happily follow you around, soak up attention, and curl up nearby whenever he gets the chance. ✨

Leo also does great with other cats, making him a wonderful addition to a home that already has feline friends. He’s playful, sweet, and still has that fun kitten energy, but he’s also very people-oriented and loves being around his humans.

WH**EY 😻

Wh**ey came to us back in October when he was about 6 months old, so now he’s right around a year old. He was one of several kitties being cared for by an elderly gentleman in town who had been feeding and looking after a group of strays. He poured so much love into these cats, and it truly shows in their personalities. We were able to help take in a few of them—including Lindy Loo and Fish Hook—(who are also available for adoption) to help find them the loving homes they deserve.

Wh**ey is the definition of a big love bug. 💙 He can be a little shy when you first meet him, but once he realizes you’re his friend, he will absolutely steal your heart. He’s incredibly sweet and gentle.

He’s also wonderful with other cats and has naturally taken on the role of big brother to many of the younger kitties around him. Watching him interact with them has been the sweetest thing.

Wh**ey has come so far and is ready to find a forever home where he can keep sharing all that love. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion, Wh**ey might just be your guy. 🐱
