Slowly but surely we are progressing at Eskie House. Getting one thing fixed/remodeled requires something else getting fixed and to get that fixed can only be done after something else is done! ADT was out on Thursday to give us a quote and will be getting another estimate from another company Saturday. The second plumber is coming out today. Hip was well enough I was able to do an inspection of our big building out back, (it is the size of a 5 car garage! Found a few things I hadn't seen in years and also found a few things that weren't in the house and had been thrown in the back building. Even some upholstered items which are now suspect as I know the house had a mouse infestation, and would not be surprised if stuff out in the big building was also playing host to a bunch of mice. Two doors had been left open so the dogs were able to get in, they weren't happy that I closed and locked the doors. Also got a huge set of locks and a tow chain to secure the two gates going back onto the property, no bolt cutter is going to get through them! Bought four more big locks that my friend decided not to use. Got a good look at the bedroom furniture that was thrown out in the weather in the far back field. The varnish on it is all flaking off and probably not salvageable. That was the bedroom set big dresser with mirror, little side table and a headboard with book shelf, foot board my grandparents bought me in 1961 when I "graduated" from my little twin set. I took lots of pics so I can go back and look them over to see what all was out there.

Greetings all! Well clean up and fix up is progressing well at Eskie House. The state inspector was here today and while she agreed that there were some damaged ceiling and walls and plumbing in the utility room, over all we are in good shape. The plumber should be starting in a few days to install our elevated dog washing tub in the laundry room. The handy man will be replacing the wall paneling that had been removed in the dogs room and then he will repair the three ceiling leak damages with new sheetrock and then paint the ceilings. I have two storm doors set aside to replace the broken ones. I decided to get the security type to make the place a little more secure, we also put two locks on the sliding glass door where the doggy door goes out back which is also now screwed into place. I haven't decided what kind of flooring to put in the kitchen, the floor has a low area in it which may or may not be fillable or just replaced then we can go with tile. Well I need to crunch some numbers for a bit then early to bed.

success at last!!!!!!!!!!! Eskie House of Wichita has been returned to original founder and director.
6 dogs were still at house, all were very friendly and loving. Not sure what happened to the rest of the dogs, there should have been 4 more young ones, they only left behind the seniors.
It isn't in the best of shape, paneling torn off of walls, ceiling damage from leaks that were never repaired except for the one which looks like a grade schooler tried to patch! Dust, dust, dust everywhere. some furniture was "taken by mistake", donated crafts that were donated to us by a wonderful local, which were at the house in November are of course GONE. This next few days in addition to the plumber, carpenter, electrician and painters, we have a small army of volunteers to help clean.

On the 9th of January the first court date for our eviction process was held. The subject showed up and managed to get another extension so she can delay her eviction, SO A NEW COURT DATE OF JAN 15 AT 9AM WILL BE THE FIRST HEARING THAT I ATTEND. Our lawyer who has been doing these types of evictions for 20+ years. is just amazed that this lady just won't move out. Part of the problem is she keeps telling people that she owns the house!!!!!!! We can't figure out what planet she is from to think just because she lived at this domicile that she should own it! I have paid the taxes and insurance on this property from day one in 1999 when I purchased it. She has never paid rent, trading dog care in lieu of rent. I know people who have rented, paying rent for decades and NEVER assumed to own the property!

Well, our recovery date for Eskie House, Dec 20 has come and gone and we are still waiting for the day we can get back in to start overhauling the inside. 3 exterior doors and storm doors, new doggy bathing tub in the laundry room, ceilings in three rooms need to be replaced where there were leaks before the roof was fixed from a hail storm. I want to cover the back patio and also install indoor/outdoor green grass on the patio. I am sure many of the rooms will need fresh paint and I am going to put in crown molding lighting in the center TV room which is very dark. Please have patience with this process.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to say, "I like you!" It means a lot to me. Right now we are waiting til the 20th which is when we hope to be moving back into EskieHouse. The very first minute we can, the plumber, electrician and a handy man will be helping us get all those little anoying bits and pieces that need fixing. A new big elevated tub for bathing, ceilings repaired to help keep us warm this winter, the front storm door, and two side doors just plain flat need replaced!

Since we will be closing down the old page, this would be a good time to make sure you have our new "address" of EskieHousenew2018 and take off the old address so you don't miss any of the upcoming activities at Eskie House. Also, it might be best to take off your "like" of the old page to help eliminate any confusion in the future. Please bear with us during this time of reorganization. We have suspended all operations at Eskie House for the time being. No adoptions, owner surrenders, intake of donations and fundraising activities. We will resume operations as soon as possible. If all goes well, We hope to have an event for Valentine's day! As the 20th looms near, (court date for the eviction of current people in the house) we are gathering supplies and making tentative appts with an electrician, plumbers, and carpenters etc. to get EskieHouse safe and working properly for everyone. I will send out a "WOOH HOOH" WHEN WE ARE ABLE TO START REPAIRS AND MOVING IN. HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL OF OUR SUPPORTERS ALL OVER THE WORLD.

Our supplies are stacking up. still, need food for doggies, prefer Pedigree for now but hope to switch all to a higher quality asap, today purchased a new double wide bathing tub to install in the laundry room. No more bending over the bathtub. We are low on milk bones, we prefer the Petsmart house brand as we know they are not from china! Of course, we always need pine sol, bleach, regular laundry soap not the HE kind and please no melaleuca, that stuff just doesn't get stuff as clean as good ole pine sol and mean green. There are cobwebs everywhere, dust a 1/4 inch thick on top of every horizontal surface. The first thing we will install is the bathing tub as all the dogs are in need of baths. Volunteers for bathing and blow drying will be needed too. We are getting excited about getting back into EskieHouse once the human resident is evicted which should be about December 14th or 15th. Let us hope the weather is good those days and the weekend before and after as we will be busy moving in stuff, straightening up areas, emptying the attached garage. so much to do. If anyone would like to help give us a holler. I will fix a big pot of good ole potato soup, cream of green chile and chicken soup, lots of coffee and hot cocoa!

We are making progress! I have hired a couple that I have known for years, to move into Eskie House and take over management of the dogs, paperwork and the house! I opened up a new bank account after closing the old one. Today I went to the store and got all sorts of supplies, food, goodies, cleaning supplies and a nice big raised bathing tub for baths. Any volunteers for the first bath? Also got a new washer and dryer, the old ones were actually owned by the previous on-site manager. Next week the vet comes for a site inspection as well as a building inspector. There may be a few issues in order to get a new insurance policy! Well, it is almost time for bed. Nite nite all.
