Wichita Animal Action League, or WAAL, is a volunteer-based, licensed rescue and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in November 2013 to advocate for all abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the Wichita area. WAAL is an action oriented group dedicated to rescuing animals in crisis. Services:

WAAL

From squalor to smiles!

Kylo has been living in DISGUSTING conditions for months (as shown in the picture below). He and his sister, Pretty Girl were once well loved. And then their entire world imploded when their owner was sent to jail on felony charges. As the house was boarded up, had no electricity or running water, and the temperatures were climbing, desperate neighbors began to try to care for the dogs by providing food and water through a window. FINALLY the owner’s girlfriend signed them over and they were able to leave their prison and go to the shelter.

We were able to find a foster for elderly Pretty Girl quickly but sadly, her help came too late and 24 hours later we gave her the ultimate gift of pain-free peace. RIP, Pretty Girl. 😣 We desperately were hunting for a foster for Kylo, but we weren’t having much luck.

BUT, today was his day!!! A VERY happy Kylo got his very own freedom ride! He strutted out of that shelter like he owned the place and his happy-go-lucky personality certainly shined bright!

MEET GRIFFIN!! He is all "glowed up" and ready for adoption!!!😍🥰

If you’re looking for a great little buddy to hang out with, Griffin is the perfect guy for you.

He is very sweet, low maintenance and other than the occasional spontaneous (adorable) howling outburst for no reason, he is a quiet, well-behaved boy.

He’s kennel trained but prefers a spot up on the bed with you. He’s working on getting his summer bod back and perfecting his potty training. Check out his before and after groom pictures! 💖

He does well with other dogs, cats, and even kittens. He’s looking for a place to call home and a new forever family. Check him out today!!

Two years ago, our community lost an incredible person, Tabor. Tabor was passionate about two things: 1) Helping people and 2) Helping animals which makes him an outright hero in our eyes!
