Wichita Animal Action League, or WAAL, is a volunteer-based, licensed rescue and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization created in November 2013 to advocate for all abused, neglected and abandoned animals in the Wichita area. WAAL is an action oriented group dedicated to rescuing animals in crisis. Services:

WAAL

🐈‍⬛🩵 Yesterday was such an awesome day! 🩵🐈

We spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped SEVENTY cats! We had well over 125 cats show up for our FREE feline spay/neuter clinic, and we were shocked to hear that pet owners started to line up at 3:30am! 😲We absolutely love to bring these types of clinics to our community because they are so needed!

💜We'd like to say a huge thank you to the teams who ensured that this day went down without a hitch!💜

🐾Thank you to the people in line who were so kind, patient, and appreciative! They helped each other, offered to help set up, and were excellent advocates for their cats!

🐾Thank you to each and every one of you who has ever donated towards one of our Spay/Neuter campaigns! Your generosity allows for events like these which save THOUSANDS of lives!

🐾Thank you to Dr. Braun and her incredible team for not only agreeing to fix the original sixty cats but then increased her number to seventy when she heard about the line!

🐾Thank you to our friends at of Felines who gave up six of their surgery spots today so that we could get in six more ferals so they didn't have to be released yesterday before being fixed.

🐾Thank you to our WAAL volunteers who go above and beyond for the people and pets in our community! We are honored that we get to call each and every one of them family!

To those who had strong feelings on why we set up this clinic as a first come-first serve type clinic, we'd love to explain. When we offer free spay/neuter appointments at our standard SIF clinics, we have about a 20% no-show rate for these types of appointments. That's after multiple appointment reminders and the fact that we offer free transportation for pets whose families don't have transportation. If 20% hadn't shown up yesterday, that would have been 14 cats who essentially lost a surgery spot. Fourteen more cats procreating or contracting Panleukopenia. So, for those who disliked our process, please let us know when you set up a free spay/neuter clinic as we'd love to help advertise for you! The more pets fixed, the better!

It's not just a vaccine clinic, it's a good time for the whole family! ⬇️

We are once again offering a FREE vaccine clinic thanks to Petco Love, Dr. Braun, Dr. Schad, K-State Veterinary School, and Saint Marks UMC! We will also be partnering with SB Mow It Forward and Ring to bring any more goodies to this event!
