Shannon's "Safe At Home" Petsitting I care for all breeds/ages/sizes of cats and dogs. I was a pet handler (volunteer) with KHS for several years.

I specialize in seniors, special needs/amputees, pets with seizures, medical issues and blind/deaf pets, administering oral and injectible meds.

I love spending time with Mable. We see each other a few times a year when her family is on vacation. Mable's favorite thing to do is lay on my chest and rub her nose against my neck, so getting good pics to send to her mommy can sometimes be tough.

What happens when your dog needs a midday potty break, but work keeps you too far from home?

Penny's parents both work too far from home to make it back during their lunch break, so I get to be her lunch date. Almost every weekday, I stop by to let her out, give her some attention, and make sure she has what she needs before settling back in for the afternoon.

Her parents get to focus on work. Penny gets a potty break, some love, and a happy reunion with her humans when they get home.

That's not just a potty break. It's one less thing for a busy pet parent to worry about.

My sweet Remy turned 3 this week! He spent his birthday morning at the groomer/spa (which is at our vet's office), getting spoiled. We took treats for the vet, groomer and vet staff.

They love having Remy there and he loves all the attention he receives!

What a welcoming committee!

These sweet faces see me several times a week for their lunchtime potty break, and they STILL get so excited when I walk through the door! There’s nothing quite like being greeted by a crew who clearly thinks your arrival is the highlight of their day.

And today, Sadie even joined the welcoming committee! She has a torn ligament in her leg, so she doesn’t normally make the trip down the stairs. But today, she decided she needed to be part of the action—and I certainly wasn’t going to complain about that extra-special greeting!

This is what I love most about being a petsitter. The relationships I build with these pets are so incredibly special.

My third five-star review recently! Will is one of my newest clients. He and his sweet kitty are like pees in a pod. Will had to travel overseas and was gone for two weeks, leaving Susu alone for the first time ever.

I'd like to take all the credit for Susu's behavior and success while her daddy was gone, but honestly, she is a very well adjusted kitty who just wants to play and cuddle. Her daddy has already booked me for several more days!

Stella has been a client of mine for 3 years. I spend a lot of time with her. She's 16 years old and had become more weak these last few weeks. Stella's mom's plans to travel earlier this week were non-negotiable so she and I talked about what end of life may look like for Stella if it came to that while in my care. 😢

Fortunately, after me trying different things to get her to eat more, she started perking up and was actually running around the yard at one point!

When your pet isn’t feeling their best, being away from home can be especially stressful. You want to know they’re not only being fed and let outside—you want to know someone is paying attention.

Someone notices their energy level.
Someone notices their appetite.
Someone notices whether they seem better—or different.
Someone communicates those things with you.
And someone genuinely cares about how they’re doing.

That's what I do. My job isn't simply to complete a visit.

My job is to notice the little things, keep you informed, and hopefully allow you to enjoy your time away without constantly worrying about what’s happening at home.

Because peace of mind is part of the service.

A set of twins... Milo and Ollie. The best way I can tell them apart after 2 years of watching them on a regular basis is the freckles on Ollie's nose.

Ollie is slightly smaller and more rambunctious so I can tell them apart once the visit starts and they interact with each other, but other than that... 🤷

They're both so beautiful and social. They love playing with each other and teasing me.
