Today we celebrate our Daisy girl! We adopted her 5 years ago today! She will be 15 next week.

Thanks to my cousin Melanie for thinking of me when she knew Daisy needed a good home. She has been the perfect fit for us. Daisy's previous owner was 97 years old, fell and broke her hip so her family moved her to assisted living and she couldn't take Daisy (then named Sookie) with her.

My favorite thing about Daisy is the pink tip on her nose. Daisy is my velcro and loves to be anywhere I am.

I'm so glad she has become a part of our family.

We had to say goodbye to our sweet Gia girl last week. Although she was diagnosed with dementia about a year ago, we were able to keep her stable and comfortable for the most part, with the night time being the most challenging. She was fully blind by the time she passed.

We miss her so much.

After 6 pet losses in just over 5 years, we've decided to take a break from adopting and let our hearts heal. We're not sure what our hearts are calling us to do at this point. Senior and special needs pets have been such a large and special part of our lives, but gosh, it's so hard.

From us adopting Bo, our blind and deaf hospice dog, who lived with us for 15 months to Kasper, Sissy, Gia, Jaxon and Zoey, our hearts have taken a beating in just a few years.

We currently have Daisy, our 15 year old terrier/chihuahua mix, Sawyer, our tuxedo cat and Remy, our newest baby who is not quite 3 years old. Hopefully it will be a while before we have another pet loss.

God bless all those who have ever loved and lost a fur baby. I feel your pain.

Toby the kitty cat left me a note. I'm glad he did because I would never have looked for him in his new hiding spot! And the chocolate chip bars were amazing! I have the best clients!

Supporting appropriate play is an important part of helping cats feel confident, engaged, and emotionally balanced. Play that aligns with natural hunting instincts can encourage positive behaviors, while mismatched play styles may lead to frustration or overstimulation.

One of the most meaningful parts of being a professional pet sitter is getting to witness new beginnings. ❤️

After the loss of beloved pets, there’s always a quiet space left behind—and it’s such an honor to see that space slowly filled again with new personalities, new energy, and new love.

Meet Mies (pronounced “Meez”) and Bruno, the newest additions to one of my longtime client families, who said goodbye to their two senior dachshunds Georgia and Heinrich last year.

It’s never about replacing the ones we’ve lost—but about continuing to grow the love they left behind. And I have a feeling these two are going to carry that love forward in the best way. 🐾

I met these two boys Friday night and will visit them a few times this week for lunch time potty breaks and then I'll care for them for quite a few days next week while my clients are out of town.

I can't wait to bond with these sweet boys and get to know them better.

"Anytime is a good time." That's Dolley Madison's motto for belly rubs.

In the driveway? Yep.
When I first arrive? Yep.
When I'm leaving? Yep.
After eating? Yep.
Anytime she sees me? Of course.

I have been known to be at her home way too long, because I'm a sucker and have a hard time leaving her. If I stop rubbing her belly, she'll tap my hand to get my attention. ❤️ She's as ridiculous as it gets and I am crazy about her!

While I'm giving her belly rubs, I'm also playing fetch with her sister Lucy. I'm glad I can do two things at the same time!

Dolley Madison and Lucy are getting ready to have a good day. I always love it when pets are reunited with their humans. The humans are always so happy to be home with their fur babies and it just warms my heart! ❤️

Archie's family was away for two days so his young boys left me two books to read to him, one for each night they were away from Archie.

Archie and his boys read together every night so I try to keep that going so that Archie can stay in his normal routine. Reading to him before bedtime helps him relax and feel connected to his boys.

The boys were excited to each pick a book for me to read.

Our new little guy, Remy, had his first dental cleaning today. He had to have four teeth pulled. The vet staff gave him this certificate for bravery.

He's doing well tonight and is recovering at home. I've been lucky enough to be able to hone with him all evening. He ate his dinner and is comfortable and relaxed so I don't think we could have asked for a better outcome.
