Merry Christmas! Talane’s Ace up My Sleeve Kirah Rose, Karagul’s Karma Choc Dahlia, Xavier of Kansas Humane Society, and Dante who is my foster from Doberman Reacue of Minnesota. I couldn’t get all 4 in the same pic, but 3 & 3 works!

We have pictures from UDC Nationals!! Amy with SagaK9 took so many amazing shots, it was hard to choose just a few!!

Here’s a little bit of what happened at the show. Karagül’s Karma Choc Dahlia (Nadia) received her Working Aptitude Certificate, passed her Youth Temperament Test, got two excellent ratings from judges, two challenge certificates, her Novice Trick Dog title, and Canine Good Citizen Award.

Talane’s Ace Up My Sleeve Kirah Rose and I attempted her breed survey with bites a second time. We unfortunately fell short again during the protection portion and were held back. I had a lot of nerves from the previous year’s events (I think she did too), did not get Kirah enough reps in training to make her successful and that’s my fault. We may try again, but not without doing some health testing first to make sure at her age, her body is up for the task.

Overall it was a stressful time, but it is always good to see familiar faces and be part of a group that loves their dogs to moon and back ❤️

Do you ever feel so strongly about something it makes your heart hurt? That’s my love for the Doberman. The trust, love, protection and capabilities that these dogs have is beyond words. In a little over a week my girls and I will be at the United Doberman Club Nationals in Illinois where Kirah will be re-tested in the breed survey and Nadia in 3 conformation shows as well as the WAE and CGC test. Wish us luck!

Pictured is Xavier, the first grandchild of the Rush’s and brother/uncle/grandpa to every Doberman who came into the Talane/Karagul crew since we got our first, Shakirah. We celebrated his 15th birthday last month 😊

Can your dogs eat bones or dinner peacefully together??

This has always been something I’ve been proud of! Kirah does have a tendency to collect them and Nadia will let me know if she has or she wants to switch with someone.

Kirah and Nadia have their meals side by side in an elevated food dish and do occasionally steal a kibble or two from one another. Rarely is there so much as a lip curl.

The only time we have problems is when Kirah’s in high drive chasing squirrels or isn’t listening and Nadia thinks she needs to correct her own mother 🙄
