My Great Protector 🥹❤️
It doesn’t matter where I am — he’s always there, quietly watching from the background.
When I’m in the barn, he plants himself at the front gate with that full “enter at your own risk” face.
175 lbs of pure loyalty and quiet strength. Love this boy. 🥰

Some days on the farm don’t just test your strength—they test your heart 💔

Yesterday was one of those days. I had to say goodbye to Amazing Grace. She never quite recovered from the severe mineral deficiency she suffered last year, and she had reached the point where the bad days outnumbered the good. Letting her go was the last act of kindness I could give her.

Grace was one of the first babies we kept. She and her brother had to be delivered by the vet, and in the process he was concerned he had injured her jaw. I sat up with her all night, feeding her with an eye dropper. By the next afternoon the swelling had gone down and we were able to reunite her with her dam. That’s how she earned her name.

When we had the herd evaluated, Grace scored at the very bottom. But year after year she blessed us with the most beautiful kids, outproducing herself every time. She was an extraordinary mother—always giving 110 percent, fiercely devoted to her babies. And she never met a treat she didn’t like. I would take a hundred Graces in my barn.

You will be greatly missed, my sweet girl.😭😭😭
