🐴💙 The Feed Room Is Running Low 💙🐴

Every morning, our horses greet us with hopeful eyes, nickers, and familiar faces waiting for breakfast. They don't know about fundraising goals, budgets, or how much feed costs. They simply trust that their next meal will be there.

Right now, we are going through about 8 bags of feed every month to care for the horses who call Heart of the Wild Equine Rescue home. While we are incredibly grateful for every donation we receive, keeping feed in the barn is one of our biggest ongoing challenges.

As summer temperatures continue to rise, we could also use RepleniMash to help keep our horses hydrated and feeling their best. Proper hydration is so important during these hot months, and RepleniMash is something our horses truly benefit from.

If you've ever wondered how you can make a direct impact, this is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways. Whether it's one bag of feed, two bags, or a bag of RepleniMash, every gift helps ensure that no horse in our care has to worry about where their next meal is coming from.

These items can be purchased directly from our Chewy Wish List, and Chewy will ship them straight to the rescue.

The truth is, rescue isn't just about saving horses. It's about showing up for them every single day afterward. It's about the feed, the hay, the farrier visits, the clean water, the care, and the promise that they are safe and loved.

If you're able to help, the horses—and all of us here at Heart of the Wild Equine Rescue—would be incredibly grateful.

Thank you for being part of their journey and helping us keep their bellies full, their bodies healthy, and their hearts safe. ❤️

💕 The board is paid. Thank you, everyone. I look forward to seeing these senior mares getting their freedom back! Give Sky Mountain Wild Horse Sanctuary a follow and watch for their arrival.

🚨 URGENT: DAHLIA & MELODY HAVE A SANCTUARY WAITING! 🚨

We have wonderful news for Dahlia and Melody! These two deserving Mustang mares have the opportunity to leave the lot on Monday and head to Sky Mountain Wild Horse Sanctuary, where they will be safe, loved, and cared for for the rest of their lives.

The only thing standing in their way is their remaining board fees of 0️⃣.

These girls have already been through enough uncertainty. Sky Mountain Wild Horse Sanctuary has generously stepped forward to offer them a forever home, but we must settle their board before they can leave and begin their new chapter.

Dahlia and Melody are both halter-broke, kind mares who deserve the chance to spend their golden years in peace rather than sitting on a lot waiting and wondering what comes next. Thanks to Sky Mountain, their future is secure—but we need your help to get them there.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps bring them one step closer to freedom and safety. If you've been looking for a way to make a direct impact, this is it.

⏰ Deadline: Monday
💛 Purpose: Pay board fees so Dahlia and Melody can leave for the sanctuary
🐴 Destination: Sky Mountain Wild Horse Sanctuary
🏡 Outcome: A lifetime of safety, care, and love.

Donations are tax-deductible: (33-2261434) Donation link for the Mustangs.

Together, we can turn what could have been an uncertain future into the forever home these mares deserve.

🍩🎉 Happy National Donut Day! 🎉🍩

Today is the perfect excuse to treat yourself while helping horses in need at the same time! ❤️🐴

Heart of the Wild Equine Rescue is partnering with Krispy Kreme for a sweet fundraiser, and every dozen donuts purchased helps make a difference. A portion of every dozen sold is donated back to our rescue, helping us continue providing feed, hay, veterinary care, and safe shelter for the horses currently in our care, as well as those who may need us in the future.

Every order and every share helps support our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and advocating for America's Mustangs and other horses in need. No donation is too small when it comes to changing a horse's life.

So grab a dozen (or two!), enjoy a delicious treat, and know that you're helping horses at the same time. 🍩🐴❤️

Together, we can continue giving these horses the care, safety, and second chances they deserve.

🎸 Wyatt: The Mustang Rockstar 🤠🎶

At just 2 years old, Wyatt has already grown into quite the young man! Standing over 15 hands tall, Nevada's baby is every bit as sweet as he is goofy.

If you've ever met Wyatt, you know he has a personality that's larger than life. Much like Lyric, he believes everything is his business and absolutely must be investigated. Gates, buckets, lead ropes, feed tubs... nothing escapes Wyatt's curiosity.

But his favorite hobby? Playing the fence like a guitar. 🎸

Whenever he realizes the electric fence is turned off, Wyatt proudly marches over and starts strumming the wire like he's headlining a sold-out concert. We're pretty sure he thinks he's the next big country music star. The problem is, the fencing wasn't exactly designed to be a musical instrument!

So, we've been joking that Wyatt needs a guitar of his very own. And honestly... knowing Wyatt, he would probably LOVE it. If anyone has an old child-sized guitar, toy guitar they'd like to donate to Wyatt's musical career, let us know, or if you would like to send one to him from Amazon or wherever! We'd love to see if our resident mustang musician would trade in the fencing for a real instrument.

Can you imagine the videos? 🎶😂

Until then, Wyatt will continue serenading his fans one fence strum at a time.

🐴💕 Lyric... our 8-year-old Mustang who believes absolutely nothing should go unexplored! 💕

If there's a bucket, she'll investigate it. If there's a gate, she'll check it. If there's something she shouldn't be messing with... well, that's probably the first thing she's going to inspect. 😂

Lyric is full of personality and keeps us laughing every single day. She's curious about everything, follows me around like my little shadow, and always greets me with the sweetest knickers when she sees me. ❤️

But beyond her funny antics and mischievous nature, the most important thing about Lyric is this: she is loved.

Loved for her quirky personality. Loved for her gentle heart. Loved for the smiles she brings. Loved simply for being Lyric.

Drop a ❤️ below if you love this sweet, nosey Mustang as much as we do!

UPDATE: She will not be running through the auction tonight, due to breaking down on the way there. I am not sure if she will be running through the July auction or not, but as soon as I know something, I will update with that info. 🙏🙏🐎🐎

🚨 AUCTION INTERCEPT FUNDRAISER 🚨

🆘⚠️ Auction is TONIGHT, and we only have 1️⃣3️⃣0️⃣ as of right now, and that is not enough if we want to ensure she does not land in the wrong hands.

This beautiful mustang could be at risk of landing in the hands of an East Coast kill buyer who attends this auction every single month. Once these mustangs disappear into those nasty, filthy lots, their future becomes terrifyingly uncertain. They deserve so much better than fear, chaos, and a one-way trip through the slaughter pipeline.

We have the chance to try and INTERCEPT her before that happens — but we need to be prepared before the auction starts Monday evening in Lumberton.

Many people ask why auction intercepts matter. The answer is simple: when horses are intercepted at auction before they ever reach a kill pen, it prevents kill buyers from acquiring them and moving them into the slaughter pipeline. It also helps stop the cycle of horses being sent to kill lots, where prices are often inflated far beyond what they originally sold for at auction. Intercepting them before they enter that system can save lives and often save valuable rescue dollars that can be used to help even more horses.

The challenge is that we have no idea what she will bring at auction. Prices can skyrocket when kill buyers are bidding, and we refuse to stand by and do nothing while another gorgeous mustang is lost to the pipeline. So we are starting to raise funds NOW in hopes of stepping in and keeping her safe if the bidding turns dangerous.

Please understand: ⬇️⚠️
✨ If we see that a legitimate private home is bidding on her, we WILL back off.
✨ Any donations can either be refunded or, with your permission, applied to another mustang in urgent need.
✨ We will keep everyone updated throughout the process.

This girl does not deserve to end up in one of those dirty kill lots. She deserves a chance at safety, dignity, and a future beyond fear.

Please help us be ready when that auction starts Monday evening. Even small donations add up when people come together for these horses.

UPDATE: The senior mares have forever placement and will be going to Sky Mountain Wild Horse Sanctuary. Give them a like and follow and watch for their arrival to the sanctuary. 💜🐎

💜 The Senior Mustangs are Safe 💜 Thank you American Wild Horse Conservation for sharing the post to help save them and to everyone else who shared and donated to ensure 2 senior mustangs are safe.

They do need a forever home or rescue together as we were told they are bonded and are on the McClean, Texas lot.

🚨 TWO BLM MUSTANG MARES NEED OUR HELP 🚨0️⃣ is needed to finish their bail by Tuesday at 5 PM CST.

Meet DAHLIA and MELODY — two older Mustang mares whose futures are uncertain unless we can step in for them. These girls deserve safety, care, and the chance to live out the rest of their lives with dignity… not fear and uncertainty.

🐴 DAHLIA (Lot #263)
BLM Mustang Bay Mare
Foaled in 2009 | Triple B HMA, Nevada
15HH and built like a tank, Dahlia is a stunning older mare with a big hind quarter and a crested neck that makes her stand out immediately. She is halter-broke, leads well, and, while nervous in the chaos of the lot environment, she settles once she feels safe. She may not understand why her world changed, but she is trying. The BLM dashboard still lists her as “Still Adopted,” yet somehow she still ended up here.

🐴 MELODY (Lot #262)
BLM Mustang Mare
Age Unknown | 14.3HH
Sweet Melody is a kind older soul who simply wants attention and reassurance. She is halter-broke, leads, and is said to have once been trained to ride years ago before being turned out. Like many older mustangs, she can be difficult to catch at first while adjusting to unfamiliar surroundings, but once she trusts you, she settles right in.

These mares have already been failed once. Older mustangs are often overlooked, and that makes them especially vulnerable. They deserve soft landings, full bellies, safe pasture, and people willing to see their worth.

We are trying to raise funds to help secure their safety. Every donation, share, and comment helps give these girls a better chance at the life they deserve.

Please help us help Dahlia and Melody. ❤️
